Make the first Level in an option costs 1 SP, the second Level costs an extra 2SP... the tenth Level costs an extra 10 SP...

So there are diminishing returns on maxing a single option instead of spreading your skills, and by the time your reach Level 9, with 10 SP you can either :
- Increase a single Level 9 option, from Level 9 to Level 10.
- Increase ten Level 0 options, from Level 0 to Level 1.

Maybe you can still have some options dependent on unlocking a certain percentage of levels of a previous option, but you make that dependency into single straight lines instead of a Tree : You can then make the whole Skill Point system fit in a single screen this way (because you would only have one single node per option, instead of having up to 15 separate nodes for a single option).

I'm fine with the Tree, but some players are complaining it's too complicated, that they don't like the idea of HAVING to spend points into options they don't want to get the options they do want... and I do feel the Tree provides less options for the user to choose from then my suggestions does.

There were plenty of compromises offered during PTS, but pgi choose the version we have now. I like it, but I understand if some folks don't.
