Okay, I play both I.S. and Clan. But from in game and on the forums I seem to notice a trend of the clans being much happier with the new skill tree set up then I.S., why is that? I am guessing that is because you can "self Quirk" your clan mechs. which in turn mean your lasers have less duration, your lrms fire further, your uacs jam less and ETC. this wasn't even a thing for the clans before(mostly). but now it is. So there you go. I know you can do the same on the I.S. side but the percentage bonuses are not nearly the same on most mechs. For example a clan med pulse laser has a range of 330 meters and a I.S. med pulse 220. now that is a range difference of 110 meters. Okay now let's add a 10% bonus "skill tree" buff. the clans now go 363 meters and the I.S goes 242 meters. now the clan weapon out ranges the I.S. Variant by 121 meters. That is actually 11 meters more than the "before buff" over their counter part. Odd, the weapons range disparity seems to only be getting worse here. Now, I have heard some complaints about the assaults clan side. but otherwise clans seem to be "happy as clams". Guess it is time to go clan for a while.

Does anyone one ever look at it from this prospective? Now I know I am about to get a lot of flack from the clammers. But hey I am actually "ATM" a Clammer myself.

Sorta like telling everyone "be happy your getting a 10% raise" well the dude making 100,000 dollars a year is getting a 2/3 large raise than the dude making 33,000 dollars a year. and no matter how long you go with the even percentage they will never become parity and in fact over time the more the "equal" 10% is applied the more the disparity will become.

Just saying

It's pretty much as expected...clan mechs get a relative buff from this "update" they are still faster, better armed, and better armored...but now you have TO PAY to get some of your quirks back...while timberwolfs get to self quirk

Skill tree takes 3060 tech into account so we don't have to respec all our mechs in july. Until then, IS won't benefit as much as clans. Intended.

then why did we get this horrible tree dumped on the IS side in may....not july?

seriously the "just deal with it till july and surely 3060 tech will fix IS" really is the most beaten of dead horses. the funny thing is...I somewhat doubt the magical, mystical IS 3060 tech so many people claim is gonna finally fix IS will do all that much. it's really just a kiddy-clan engine a few nifty new guns. Meanwhile in happy clan world previously unquirked mechs get quirks and clans get more range because of blanket percent bonuses that make their already longer range weapons better than before

This is what so many of us were screaming about since the first PTS... it is the exact opposite of what it was supposed to accomplish. But the white knights called us whiners and worriers... and PGI forced this dumpster fire on us out of spite for our hatred of their previous utter failures like Escort, Incursion, every version of CW, InfoWar, & Energy Draw. They keep coming up with terrible ideas that they implement poorly and we have to suffer because they will not just admit they suck at their job and do the only thing they are good at... making Mechpacks and Maps (anyone else remember when they used to make those?)
