So I was messing around with the skill grid:
https://kitlaan.gitlab.io/mwoskill/#
Under Jump capabilities you can get 30% heat shielding ....
If I add these to my NightGyr that already has 100% external heat shielding I should be cooling down while jumping....and have more efficient cooling on hot maps.
Im not home
Could someone test?
Anyway how is this skill supposed to work?
Does it only apply to Jump jet heat?

with no added heat sinks or skills in the cauldron of caustic valley the GYR doesnt gain heat when using JJ's.. it doesnt budge from a 3% heat at full throttle and even cools down when running hot and using JJ's in there.. i ran around terra therma and vitric to the same effect..
Now whether you get increased cooling or not during a jump with skills on it i dont know.. dont have the skills on it.. If it does give a cooling benefit that might be interesting.. would prolly take video comparison to really be sure on it..

The External Heat Shielding comes from the NightGyr using laser heatsinks that are unaffected by environment heat (modifiers). It has nothing to do with JJ heat shielding.

In Lore yes, its laser heat sinks.
In Mwo its just a quirck that blocks external heat 100%.

well apparently the heat quirk on the night gyr is already enough to render normal JJ heat a non issue... now whether or not skilled up JJ's add heat is something i've jet to examine..
it could end up that adding skills increases the net cooling of the mech during jump making jump cooling a thing.. testing needs be done.. i would suggest anyone doing testing to try both with and without a full load of sinks for comparison. .
