I would like to ask you to consider a few points:
1. There are a number of single card offerings today that support up to 5 monitors. Think about that and see what you can do in future versions.
2. The current layout I have seems to have all the GUI elements sucked over to the left, it is as though you are keying the UI off the start button. Everything is just slightly off queue.
3. If you could seriously think about having a configuration option that allows a user to actually get a wrap around **** pit view, it would be gorgeous! (So have a few UI variants, such as:
a. 3840 X 1024, have a center console orientation that pulls ALL cockpit UI elements to the middle, not the left.
b. 5032 x 1024, or whatever that is, use the splits to center the UI.
c. My card for example actually has a beautiful 5 screen option for a Flight Sim. It can support using a 4th touch screen which lays in front of the center screen, allowing you to actually create a set of touch screen controls, which could be QUITE interesting as this game develops.
d. The fifth screen is an optional "pop up" HUD element, which can simulate the 3D aspects of HUD control.
4. As noted in d. above, also consider adding a 3D effect to the HUD/UI. If users were to turn on 3D, they could actually see the UI elements thrust out into their field of vision as a floating UI, especially the reticle, which would be like a real fighter get HUD today.
5. Most of all, please take a serious pass at creating UI's that support a variety of options including 2, 3, 4 and 5 screen layouts. You could just have your core UI for anyone just using a centered screen. Have totally seperate UI's for each number of screen settings used.
This could easily be an upgraded option. You have a functional UI that while centered, will support any size screen. But if you purchase the HUD upgrade UI, you get say 2 screen split UI that looks great, compensating for the bezel. Same for 3, 4, and 5. The NUMBER 1 being for 3, since that is the best, most likely and easiest HUD/UI to design. (It really does seem to be a ringer for any general mech setup.
What would be extremely nice is if you could orient the UI so that users would actually pull the angle in and really make those screens about peripherial vision. This would be SO immersive, it would probably get you guys some serious awards for the thoughfulness and adoption of cutting edge hardware.
Looking forward to your efforts!
