So far as soon as a Light or 40 tonner gets behind me while I am piloting a Heavy mech I can't fire on them again. I can't back away from them while turning and I certainly can't out-turn them. But Lights in MWO have been given the firepower to battle Heavies and Assaults unlike previous MechWarrior games where they really couldn't do much. In fact, usually if a fast 40 tonner or less gets behind me in a Heavy mech it's the last I see of them.

I read that you disconnected engine size from mech-turn and you may have to re-think the values you applied. It's really broken the balance that MWO had.

(MechWarrior pilot since 1998.)

No. Not enough mobility there. Engine size no longer effects mobility. Mobility is based off tonnage now.

Also if PGI wanted players using every tree they would give us more active nodes to get to the basic abilities the old Skill system gave us. Instead they buried every needed ability under useless ones. I feel like I am back in Closed Beta.

Yes, I understand that engine size has been decoupled.

If you want more agility, then spec into the mobility tree. But it's gonna cost you - that points you can't put into armor and firepower. It's all a balancing game. You can't have ALL THE THINGS anymore. And that is a good thing.

Or (and yeah, I know this is crazy talk, especially in PUGs), you do teamwork. Most of my mediums I have rebuilt for swatting lights off my heavies/assaults.

If u are scared by Lights, search for a near teammember to help. Or just get your back onto a wall so they cant get behind ya.

You never walk alone ... or u die.

I run my timberwolf with full mobility and armor tree, with full mobility, my timberwolf is basically dancing around the battlefield with how fast and mobile it is. haven't tried other heavies though.
