Greetings.

Feedback.

TL;DR
  • The jam chance skill does nothing for UAC2.
  • UAC2 Jam duration needs lowering.
  • Jam duration should be 2x the CD of the Weapon across the board for all UAC's.
  • Increase base Jam chance to compensate and substaintialy buff the Skill tree Jam chance reduction and increase the number of nodes so people can specialize in UACs.
So i like to run 6 or even 8 AC2's, of what ever varient, on the mechs i use.

The problem is atm theres really only one choice, normal AC2's.

The reason:

LBX2 projectiles are to slow, the range means u need to brawl, in the current meta, in a hulking Assault, that results in ur death. So LBX2's are out.

UAC2's, they are unreliable as sustained DPS weapons, ranging from as low as 20 DPS (over 15 sec) to as high as 31 DPS (over 7 sec) in my testing, but due to their increased heat over normal AC's they can only sustain fire for 7 to 15 seconds.

One of their biggest failings is the skill tree Nodes for Jam chance, which in my testing did not affect their performance.

The second failing is the Jam duration, at 3.75 seconds a UAC2 takes 5.2 times as long as its unbuffed CD to un-Jam. No matter how you slice it thats just weak.
A AC20 i can understand taking that long, thats bassicaly 1 CD cycle, but an AC2 taking 5 CD cycles to unJam is just wrong.
UAC jam duration CAN NOT be a single universal figure for all UAC's, its ********.

Finaly, when compared to LBX and normal AC, the UAC2 does no better in terms of Damage delt within the heat capacity of a mech. The low end DPs is lower than normal AC2's, its highest is ofc much higher, but in the end the average results in the UAC2 dealing the same Damage from 0 to 100% heat, as normal AC2's and LBX2's, albeit over a shorter time.

Meaning its a better idea to go with the more reliable, and cooler option of the AC2.
