Would you like a game mode to play unskilled Mechs? What I mean is everyone willing to play unskilled Mechs would be able to play together, Match Making system would take care of finding players willing to play totally unskilled Mechs.

Games would be much slower and last longer due to less alpha strike, higher overheat chance, lower damage output, etc. Call it the Hardcore mode. That's also where players skills would really shine.

This idea comes to me because if I have 30 minutes to play I just want to launch the game and jump in a match quickly without having first to spend 20 minutes on a Mech to finetune skills. I will eventually look at adding skills to many Mechs but for now I would really just like to play a quick game here and there without having to look at skills at all.

Then I realized why not make it a permanent option? So even when all your Mechs are skilled properly you would always have the option to select Hardcore to jump in a game where skills do not apply.

I think it would be a totally different gameplay and be one more option when you're looking for a change.

Yeah there is a whole hidden game in MWO with skill less and/or stock mechs.

You have to have a private lobby and organise a bunch of people to do it though, which kills it.

A lobby for pug stock mode would be cool.

I PUG only, like many... didn't thought about private and I guess it's possible to cheat? Who knows if you kept a skill or not?

Haven't played Private matches a lot but wasn't there an option to force Stock loadouts to any mech regardless what loadout it currently has?
Same should be possible to implement for skills so if the one creating the game selects "no skills" all skilltrees will be automaticly ignored.

PS: I would also like to see "stockmech" battles to become one of the basic QP modes like domination or skirmish.
Just to have these fun matches where people go "**** this mech is originaly pretty awefull" and then have to figure out how to play under NOT ideal conditions.
Did that back then with some of my friends in private lobby and its a lot of fun every now and then.

It's private in that a person assembles a group from a friends list or have people invited by the friends in the group (to be able to create a private lobby 2 people in the group need to have premium time enabled) and can choose what type of a match it can be, plus options like playing with no quirks, no modules, no skills and stock builds only. I played some matches like that and it was awesome, it forces people to play as a team and communicate.

There can't be any cheating, if no skills option is checked than skills from the previous system weren't applied to all mechs in the game. Same goes for other options I mentioned.

Yes this. Didn't know it was available in private lobby as I usually QP all the time. So basically having that mode available in QP would be great. Was there a reason it was in private game only?

If there was a stock mech mode or no skill enhancement game mode, I would be playing it right now.

Someone with good twit skills should suggest that idea of a stock mode in qp. Won't make more people rage then escort or incursion... Or any mode really. Since everyone hates skirmish, or any mode that isn't skirmish...

Only if everyone had to play random mechs. If not everyone would just take the same few op clan mechs as they have good stock builds

Not necessarily unless it's like FP where it's IS vs Clan (while ignoring the advantages IS had in the lore which makes it pointless) which would be stupid and completely one-sided.

Well there are a few stock builds on IS mechs that are good but most of them dont have dhs, much ammo and most dont have full armor.

What a mode like this would end up with only a few mechs being used because the stock builds are so bad.

We did some stock games in private once for fun i took a ember thinking it would be good as i remember the stock build is 4 flamers and 4 machineguns haha . It was fun and i did like it. The games were very slow thats for sure.

I thought this was about repair and rearm. If so, yes!

There has to be some tonnage equivalency. Like 1 ton IS has to be about equal to .6 or .7 clan tons. Set the IS team average tonnage to something like 75, and the clan average tonnage to like 50. Clan could still get an assault or two, but would have to lighten up the other lances. IS could go with heavy mediums, heavy heavies, and assualts with like 1 or 2 light recon mechs.

That or do the 10 vs 12. Although IS still probably needs a tonnage advantage in that case as well.

I think that would basically boil down to LRM/Tag mode.

If lore build only matches existed outside of private matches, I'd finally be the king of something. So I'm biased towards it.
