We have BAP, command consoles, and target comps + skills that increase sensor range by %; but what is the base sensor range of a mech?

Can anyone quantify that? Seems like a strange thing to not display to the user...or I'm not looking in the right place.

Thanks in advance.

i'm pretty sure base sensor without modification or skill is 800m.

LOS as far as I know, so it can be up to 1km provided there aren't any obstructions.

No, there's a sensor range. And if I remember correctly (and this may have just been a part of one of the old PTS) different weight classes were intended to have different ranges.

Also bewildered me how PGI never bothered to visualize this on the minimap or battlegrid.

They must have changed it then after Open Beta because it used to be based on LOS and 1km I believe. It's good that they changed it though.

It was changed with the skill tree to give incentive for taking the Sensor Range nodes.

Makes sense and I think it's a step in the right direction.

yeah just about everything was changed for skill tree whether it was in the notes or not... all done in order to push us to use nodes. though the 100m nerf to LRM range hasnet made getting extra sensor range really worth it..

I'm pretty sure before that you couldn't detect mechs past a certain range even with line of sight.

BASE is 800 meters for god's sake. 800 meters is the answer.

with BAP equals 25% range increase (if that's still correct) equals 1000 meters

With the old sensor range module (another 25% of base) and BAP you could spot out to 1200 meters
