The Spud Shed is a family owned series of supermarkets in Western Australia, started by professional potato farmer Tony Galati....ok, ok, MWO stuff it is.
Spud Shed is a joint effort between the Exiled Keshik and the 54th Mechanized Regiment. Both units placed 5th and 6th respectively in the 2016 world championships, regularly play together in community warfare (or whatever the hell it's called this week) and elected to join forces in order to put together a viable roster for MRBC season 8, where we won AP Division B.
We want to win and improve, but we also recognise that real life comes first, therefore we only commit to one formal day of practice as a team per week (pilots are of course welcome to practice outside of that, but it isn't mandatory).
Due to some pilots moving on from MWO, and others having reduced availability due to work, we're keen to expand our roster for season 9. If you have talent but limited experience at a comp level, are willing and ready to listen to calls from a drop caller, and can make jokes when we aren't in drops - but shut up and focus on the task at hand during the drop, we'd like to hear from you.
Leagues we participate in:
Currently our team focuses on MRBC, in order to avoid burnout. Members of our roster have taken part in the Star League as part of the North American team however. Depending on the format and dates, we will likely field a team for the battle for midway when it next runs.
When we play:
We have members across the AP region - Singapore, WA, QLD, Victoria and NSW.
Our normal group catch up/practice is Sunday nights at 9pm AEST. During the week pilots will drop together as and when they are online. Scrims (either in house against the NA 54MR team, or other AP units) are organised on an ad hoc basis, as teams discuss an interest in it.
Our expectations of you:
- You will be open to strategies and discussing them in a group setting, but when the designated drop caller/s make a call, you will adhere to it.
- We have set builds we expect players to use - whilst in Div B last season there was a bit more flexibility about acceptable drop decks and strategies employed, we are intent on showing that while we still have some learning to do as a team, Div A is a good spot for us.
Therefore do not expect to bring LRM's. We're not that kind of 'tatos.
- Ideally you will have a google account set up, in order to access team spreadsheets. If not, you are happy to create one.
- We use whatsapp to communicate match schedules and other relevant drop information amongst the team.
- If there is a weakness identified in your play, you will commit to working on it. We're not expecting perfection, but we do expect a degree of self awareness about what you can do better.
- Finally, you will be able to commit to playing with the group in CW or quick play before joining the roster. We want you to make sure we're the right team for you as much as we want the reverse to also be true.
Membership on the team does not require you to be a member of EK or 54MR, though you are welcome to join either unit if interested after dropping with the group.
If interested, or you have further questions please post here, or hit myself, Mekkor Vickers or justcallme A S H up in game.
Cheers for your time.
