When in actuality it's a Battlemech Optimization Tree (BOT). Discuss! Personally I think this leaves the door open for an actual skill tree if we ever get more pilot related mechanics in-game (like A Real Heat Scale with Real Consequences.)

Also, nary an hour goes by without another "I quit" thread so just gonna leave this here...

Actually, since there are multiple trees, it's a skill forest. Posted Image

I dont think there are enough trees to make a forest, perhaps a grove.

Quirk tree is more accurate but it could be nicknamed the noob trap.

Reminds me more of a root sytem than a web... unles its a web from that one spidr that makes em look like it was drunk.

Well technically it's a set of DAGs (directed acyclic graphs).

Just imagine if instead of the simplistic "tug of war" planet resolution scheme PGI is using in CW, they instead used DAGs, but in the opposite direction from the POV of the invading force. Posted Image

its actually the Skill Hedge Maze... there is nothing "tree" about interlocking paths, it is a bush. They constructed the bushes into a Hedge Maze for people to get lost in while thinking they are really accomplishing something.

While I can see the reference, it's really not that difficult to navigate. I didn't have any problems. There are some idiosyncrasies which could be bugs or just working as intended. Didn't cause any issues for me though.

A lot of the hate for the system is really just hyperbole.
