I don't remember ams shooting down narc missiles but was just in a match where a few were claiming that it does....
I've never seen this before have ran narcs quite a bit over the years. I still don't see AMS fire when I shoot at a target with a narc.
Is this a thing?

It does
It needs to be at range, but if it's far enough away a NARC beacon will be fired at and destroyed.
I think it has higher HP than any other missile, so it takes some time for it to happen, comparatively

Hrmmm.. yeah I've always fired them from as far out as possible and never noticed ams shoot them down. It was incredibly rare people even ran ams for a long time there so just might not have ran into the counter much to have noticed I guess.
Odd that AMS would fire on narc's as it is an anti lock on weapon. IE it doesn't shoot down regular srms but will shoot down streaks.
EDIT: with the skill tree adding so much more range to them now especially on the RVN-3L I guess ams would have a much better chance at destroying it now. been thinking there was just a hit reg issue after the patch.

It WILL shoot down normal SRMs
Since they fly faster (much like NARC), it just takes longer for AMS to engage, comparatively
The bugged out AMS will take out ~22 SRMs from the full radius. Keep in mind, that same bugged AMS will take out HUNDREDs of LRMs.
Considerably fewer
