... in Tier 1.

Such a long journey...

I remember when I started, I told myself (and if you bother to go back 500 of my threads to like the first or second thread I'd ever made), "Geez, if I can't advance anymore after Tier 3, I might just quit."

Oh the scare I got after I first cross into tier 3, and the thought of the possibility that I may average only 100 damage a game...

The trial to tier up where you seem to just go through games after games of bad teammates where averaging 500 damage doesn't turn the tide of a 10+ game losing streak... And through it all, I thank my teammates for the occasional cheat carry when I needed to break from the nadir of losing.

So many events, so many grinds, so many random activities...

Got into comp play, met friends, peer-reviewed a guide, predicted 3 major disasters, got 10,000 suggestions ignored...

But now, I have finally ascended into the realm of Gods and Monsters, as much more difficult trials stand before me.

And here's to another 1700 hours. Cheers!

Just make sure to wear your biohazard suit for the giant pit of toxic goo that are your dead team mates.

Well, I was unemployed for a while. haha.

Faction plays really kill time too. You can play 2 games and an hour and half just go by.

Congratz. I am getting close to achieving Tier 1 myself with only about 10% of the bar left to go.

Yes, now you will keep dropping with people that are t2 t3 and t4 but you will feel that they should be doing more because you are t1. The only thing that will change is your expectation and please, lower it and remember to play for fun.

unemployment (and then a job in sales, where I had a lot of dead time.... and internet access) is how I got so many darn posts.

Was unemployed for Closed Beta, which meant a ton of games then, too.

Now... unemployed again... but dead hardware.

*sigh*

Yeah I remember when I first got out of tier 3, I was thinking how cool that was. But then I got into tier 1 and I realized there's no skill aspect to the tier system for me personally, it just meant that I had played way to fricken much MWO. Because no way in the world am I in the same segment of the playing population as our various and favorite YouTube and Twitch streamers, right? I certainly don't think so.

Not saying that applies at all to you, friend - congratulations!

One thing I did benefit from is that there were more people that were willing to coordinate the team, communicate and contribute information to eachother as I went up-tier! That really did make me feel good because even if it was just that I play too much I was at least finally seeing a reward from the accumulated playtime! It's just more fun when you can play as a team and use your teamwork to better your performance and thus win.

On the other hand since the skill tree the matchmaker has been rotting garbage slathered in filthy dog droppings so that good communication and teamwork and all that went out the window, don't ask me how. I find it hard to believe that enough high tier players actually, for reals quit from the treepocalypse to leave the matchmaker with too few options.

Anyway yeah, welcome to tier 1, have fun buddy!

Heresy!

It was only when the uptempo version came with season three that the lead music was less than good.

And no, I'm not kidding! I think that show has problems like every single Star Trek show ever made, but the music at the start and the montage bit wasn't one of them, I liked it. Grew up watching TNG so it's not like I've never seen "proper Trek" - all the shows had bad episodes but aside from the last episode ENT was not worst or second worst. It was fun!

Well, the very first mech that I truly got to customize (and I don't mean buy, I bought an Adder first, and aside from 2 ppc strip flamer, didn't do much to it) was an EBJ which I put 2 ppc (on arm) and 2 srm 4s on torso.

Yea...
