Feature suggestion:
Objective:
Provide a logical, efficient means of encouraging team-based planning and tactics amongst casual/ disparate/ non-aligned/ non-grouped players.
Feature overview:
Allow a team to easily see the load-outs of their team members, in a way which is not distracting or obstructive to the game play.
Suggested implementation:
- Available during the game initialisation screen, while waiting for everyone to ready up and the timer is counting down.
- Roll mouse over any blue team name/ mech name.
- Display pop up frame detailing the following about the target mech:
> top speed
> weapon load-out
> ammo for weapons where appropriate
I would not suggest implementing this in any way in the main game play because it would be unnecessarily distracting as well as fail to achieve the objective of facilitating planning.
Example usage:
"Who's got LRMS? anyone got LRMS?"
"I've got 2 LBX 20's, who is brawling and needs a side kick?"
The suggested team member information would allow players to quickly and accurately make tactical assumptions as well as promote communication. It would facilitate a 15 second huddle before every match.
This is appropriate in the Mechwarrior game story immersion, such that it is, because members of a unit would always know what other unit members are carrying and their capabilities; it is also very appropriate from the perspective of MWO as eSports since it enhances MWO's unique teamwork shooter characteristic.

Fully agree.
And while they are at it, add the ability to see friendly mech's armor status per component. Maybe offer some sort of "VR" like overlay if you press a key, like with heat or thermal vision. That way you can identify a friendly who is in trouble visually and better provide support/cover. You could give it similar restrictions to enemy info, or base the info on distance to another friendly mech, or have mechs act as nodes in a mesh network, with targetting info sped up by the # of friendlies in the chain, or in range. Could be a great way to encourage teams to actually stick together, or would provide a great tactical use for a UAV that has nothing to do with the enemy.
