I just discovered the Worksite Stereo Warhorn. Now there is conclusively no reason to use the Heavy Metal anymore.

Good night, Sweet Prince. You were well worth the MC when I acquired you.

WRONG.

Heavy Metal gets up to 160 CT armor if you dump stuff into survival, about the same as Fatlas with full survival, but he's a lot more maneuverable.

Huh.

I always thought Heavy Metal was kind of consistent. Now Glam Rock...THAT is obsolete. Country and Folk seems to be having a bit of a resurgence. You can argue that Prog Rock has always been sort of simmering in the back ground, and of course Industrial is like a roller coaster of ups and downs; so to with Punk. But Heavy Metal obsolete? No I think no...oh...never mind.

As far as I know, the Heavy Metal Mech is the only one with a built-in warhorn ...

That particular warhorn gets overwritten when you install a "normal" warhorn ... BUT not the Fool's Warhorn from the april event, meaning that you can have the warhorns of the Heavy Metal when you kill a 'Mech, *AND* the "niarkniarkniark" Fool's Warhorn when you die.

I'm not sure about that "triple warhorn" effect, and since I don't own the Heavy Metal Mech I cannot test it myself ... but I've read that in the flood of threads about said Fool's Warhorn when it was introduced :)

OPs point is wrong. The HM has been obsolete last few years but not because of the warhorn. The warhorn cant be used on any other mech, it doesn't have a crappy 3d model inside the cockpit, it plays more than one tune, it is a lore mech and therfore has a reason to exist as opposed to the warhorn blaring inside your cockpit.

Aside from OPs point, it has different hardpoint and a bitchin camo and with the skill tree maybe a new life ahead of him.

Heavy Metal has had the nerf bat beating the crap out of it since it was put into the game.

- Gauss Nerf (charge up)
- PPC Nerf (velocity nerf)
- Jump Jet Nerf
- Engine De-sync

Heck take all the nerfs ever in this game since the heavy metal has been put in and just about 90% have negatively affected this mech.

paint it black. then you can call it black metal. to record the sound just plug a guitar into a tape deck, hit record and just strike the strings as fast as you possibly can, throw on some blast beat samples and youre in buisness. now develop a case of strep throat, down a double of your favorite 100+ proof rotgut and then whisper into a mic with the amp turned all the way up.

or better yet just get that cromagnon song 'caladonian' from 1969 that sounds like some kind of scottish folk black metal. would certainly mesh with the chassis' namesake. black metal needs more bagpipes.

Its true I have not heard anything new that I liked at all.

I listen to all kinds of music to except country :)

Its not just me either all the new movies and games are using retro music even. But to retro to listen to for me anyway, but point made.

Fact is music is hurtin big time now.

Music wont be as good any time soon.

Same with Boars Head. The engine change has made taking a 400 engine on an Assault pointless for the weight. It was even suspect before. Now it's a laugh.

Nothing like their most expensive mechs for MC being crap.

Even though it played Elvis Presley songs in the lore, but that's not exactly feasible for MWO with copyright issues and all. I still like Heavy Metal's MWO warhorn though.

So back it off to a 350 and cackle with glee when the light engine comes out.
