I honestly never understood why the TT designers felt the need to gimp IS TC's by making them heavier, when the fact that IS equipment was heavier by default already meant that you would need more tonnage on the TC even if it had the same weight as the Clan version, since TC tonnage scaled based on the weight of the weapons affected by it. It's really just total overkill.

The IS just isn't allowed to have nice things, other than maybe the Plasma Rifle and TSEMP. Everything else is mediocre™.

Except the IS version came out later, yet was exponentially crappier...

That's like opposite power creep.
