So, there was once a time when event data updated every 15 minutes, what ever happened to that? Now it's every hour, but it's not even ON the hour, just wondering, why isn't it at least a solid, stable update schedule, sitting waiting for it to update is a little annoying, nothing major, just one of those minor annoyances that I don't understand. Anyone able to enlighten me?

Server is tracking more details nowdays, load on it is too big to do 15 min intervals. Updates are after top of hour, assume page updates 10 to 15 mins after hour.

Sounds like they need to do some optimizations. Instead of updating everything every so many minutes, they should only update users who's stats have changed and are viewing they page. That would both drastically reduce server load and give people almost instant updates.

Well the system would still need to "check" for the changing stats of people, but it wouldn't need to change the stats for the update. Just seems like, it should be easier than it is. But thanks for the replies.

No, it wouldn't. After a finished match, you simply invalidate the cached page of those 24 players in the match. You don't generate a new page for them until they actually view the page. But now you know the currently cached page is out of date.
This operation will barely take nanoseconds for a database to perform.

You know about those in-game quest trackers that other games have? Yeah, lost tech :3
