So this is not a big thing, but a thing nontheless I find worthy to share.
I have long been thinkng about getting a new gamerlaptop. Due to running MWO better but also for the upcoming Battletechand Mech Wariior 5 mercenaries.
Now, the final push on the decicion to go for it was when my laptop started acting oddly with MWO, which I have played since late 2014 on the very same laptop.

The oddities?
Well, the mechbay loadsfine and everything. The trouble is noticable when beingin a match.
It kinda goes smooothe, then stutters, then the framerate goes smooth again.
All this goes with steady intervals and I had to time my engagements withthe enemies or else the stuttering would throw off my aim and all things. And no, its not lag due to bad internet connection. I got a ping in the mid 50 all the time so that was not the issue. Neither other players with bad ping 100+. The fan inmy laptop worked overtime in this period, it was hot, never a good sign of course.

So I went to the local tech store and for free one of the fellas helped me blow out the massive amount of dust from my laptop.

GUESS WHAT? MWO runs like a charm again and have been good the last few days. I finally can up the setting a bit and enjoy the game more.

So in the end.
If you experience similar issue and have tried everythingelse like I did ( lower settings, remove background programs etc), hold ofyour money for a new laptop OR desktop and try cleaning out the dust FIRST.

For Laptops, keeping it clear of dust buildup is even more critical. Also, check Youtube on how to dissemble your specific laptop, check on if the thermal pads, which can become less effective, can be replaced with new pads or thermal paste and make that change. With one of my older Dells, to use thermal paste I actually had to add a copper shim between the gpu/cpu and the heatsink. Most though would not need that shim but it is always best to do some searches.

Thanks for the heads-up Posted Image Yeah, I might need some instruction videos on how to disassemble OR get some help though the store I brought my laptop from, so they could show me how to do it if I went to them in time before they close the door for the day. They are very helpful to their customers.
Hmm, thermal pads and paste. Might get some of that in advance, especially when I get a new gamer lap-top. Just in case.

Advanced hint :
Re-setup your OS regularly from scratch, they will accumulate tons of stuff that are hindering smooth operations over the time .

Yep. I do this regularly every time I build a new PC or significantly upgrade which is about every 4-5 years at maximum.
