With the July update advancing the timeline to 306X, it's hard not to become nostalgic. Looking back at the days when mechs were mechs and life was simpler. Back when you vaporized your neighbor for stealing your cheese sandwich.

Now you're probably thinking, "Ok, what's this nutcase getting at?". Well, we can't always choose who we fight. But what if we could choose WHEN we fight by adding a timeline/tech level sliders. Not only limiting what weapons and technology you can use, but also permitting allowances to your opponents (although I think this would mostly be used in this purposed event).

Do you want to relive the drawn-out slugging matches of the 4th Succession War? Set your timeline to 3028. Experience the shock and awe of the Clan invasion in 3050. Or take revenge in the battlefields of the future.

Is this idea perfect? No. I foresee alot of IS loyalists abandoning 305X and even 306X to have a fair fight in 3028, but at least they'd have the option.

Nice idea but we don't have enough players. Get a few 100.000 players more and we can start to split them up

Premium time requirement for private matches will be gone soon, we have stock mode, so all that we need now for all kinds of immersive custom matches is a good tool of players' communication. Just simple recruiting chat channel instead of useless LFG button should be enough. Plus, maybe, some additional timeline settings for stock matches to make things fast and simple.

How about setting up your own website to create a Stock-league where people can organise fights themselfs?
Kinda like its done for this FW group MWBA or whats its called?

I can still don't get why PGI dosn't take these guys efforts and integrate them into MWO instead of doing it external.
When fans to a better job in haveing FW then you are doing, you should know that something goes pretty worng..
