Skippy, my first unit got lots of drops against you guys, and mostly got stomped, but later when all the units changed, and i joined your unit, we got in a Lot of great drops, and I learned so much from the new bunch of guys I was playing with..... and we all ways had a blast, even though a lot of gritching went on when things were not going so well during a drop... Fun Times playing with my teammates back in the day.........................

edit:
A shout out to my very first PvP Lance mates: Dogg, Anom(sp) and Kick Master, who taught me how to play this game like a TEAM....

I'm absolutely in favor of MW5 taking all the soloist out of FW. Absolutely and 100% in favor of it. Looking forward to it even.

I realize there's the fear of 'but who will fill matches'. Honestly? No few unit members who used to play FW would come back if they didn't have to worry about 30% of their team being worthless, terribad solos who refuse to play with their team and functionally throw every match they play. People like Count (when he used to play) and A S H actually 'pug' a great deal but still maintain an excellent win/loss. Pat Kell will pug and has pugged a bunch before, same thing. Still wins way, way more than the people crying about how pugs always get stomped. When I pugged in FW for about a year my W/L was about 0.88 for my pure pug matches.

Why?

Because it's about how you approach the game. It reflects a lot in even QP leaderboard stats. QP, FW, all of it. It's a 12 v 12 team game. Every match. You play to the success of your team, you bring good mechs and you make good decisions. That takes effort and it rewards teamwork. If that's how you play and what you play to then your stats will reflect it. If your stats don't reflect it that's a problem with how you're playing. You may think you're 'making smart choices/bringing good mechs/playing to the team' but if you're losing the great majority of your matches, QP, FW, whatever, then no. You're not doing those things and you need to re-evaluate how you play and what you do.

The game is the game. FW is a far more team based piece of it. If all the people with no real interest in playing against other people up and left it wouldn't be a terrible thing. They would get to play a game they actually want to play and everyone else gets to play a 12 v 12 team v 12 game with people who actually understand the concept, want to play with a team and are willing to put in even the tiniest effort to do so. Maybe even a tiny bit socialized. This makes a better, more fun environment that draws and keeps more people all around.

Crazy, right? The reality is that plenty of people have left FW, even MWO, because getting saddled with people who are playing the game but have no interest in putting in the effort to win or actually play the game as it is (12 v 12 team v team) and having them sabotage you all the time is no fun.

Hurrah for MW5. Can't come fast enough.

Dude, if you are getting stressed out this much over a game, I don't think it's the right game for you. You are talking about seeing red and your blood pressure boiling. That is all self inflicted by choosing to play this game. Either figure out how to find some way to enjoy it or go somewhere else, for your own health. No, I am not going to respond to anything else you said because you are so clearly beyond reasoning with that it would be pointless for me to try to have any kind of logic thoughtful discussion with you. I just wanted to let you know that what you are doing to yourself is not healthy and you need to fix it for your own sake. I am being completely serious here, not trolling, not trying to win an argument, just trying to offer some advice that just might make your life better.

Sure glad none of my Marine Corps brothers or sisters felt that way, but then again the drive to succeed is what made us all Marines anyway, unlike the folks that quit during boot camp.

Let me ask you this : did they have fun while doing it ?
Let's do an MRI of Doctors, Engineers and Marines to see how they are in blood flow in their pleasure neural substracts.
If advancing in life means dying at the age of 54 yo from alcoholism and mental diseases is a successful life, then we have different standards.
Or look at it this way : would u rather be a retired army grunt, or Richard Branson.
Forgot to add : you are assuming in a very narrow minded way, that the one who quit boot camp failed in life. Can you statistically prove that ? Did they fail more than the ones who made it through ?

The fifth time in a row I got seal clubbed I almost put my fist threw a wall.

Now I ask you is that leisure time well spent?

Not if your dropping solo in a queue not made for solo.

So, you learn anything? Maybe learn after utter failure on your part maybe, just maybe, it is time to take part? Five rolls in a row and it is 47 OTHER people fault still?

However, since you have stated you will not change at all to suit the mode, that is the gameplay experiences you can expect.

Made your bed, now you get to die in it.

Fist through a wall because you have social issues in a social game in a social mode.

I often wonder at the frightful headway which could be made if people put as much effort into their gameplay as they do into their forum-warrioring...

Forum-warrioring is the game.
I am surprised, shocked, and disappointed that PGI still hasn't had a forum war event yet. Maybe they can do one for July 4?
Keep on forum-warrioring, forum warriors! It's the only consistent entertainment to be had.

Successful people who are put in tough, tense and stressful situations, either intentionally or accidently, rise to the occasion. Those who aren't successful tend to quit, or in your case, eject. Don't need to study neurology to see that, just have to look around at all the successful people and see how they got there.

Also, stating that all those people (doctors, marines etc) all die at 54 of alcoholism, mental diseases or whatever is vastly generalizing a very complex problem. Sure stress can lead to health problems but so can a slew of other things such as genetics, environmental factors etc. Not all successful people die that way and not all successful people in stressful jobs that are demanding of their time die that way either. Stop generalizing, it invalidates any point you are trying to make.

Anyway I'm done talking about this. You guys are ******* rockheads. Exactly what I expected from FP folks. And that's why I avoid ya'll like a plague.

Oh thank God. You completely miss the point of FP. FP was brought into being for people who take the time to prepare for the battle both in and out of the game. You completely miss the whole concept of FP and you come to the forums and complain. If you are not going to find an organized group just stay out of FP. Finding a group is easy, there are a ton of team-speak servers that accept anyone and there are a shitton of guides on building the correct mechs for FW. If you choose to whine because you can't play the way you want and not get kicked in the arse -- that's your fault.

Didn't your parents teach you that YOU are responsible for your decisions, both bad and good and that you have to ACCEPT the consequences of making stupid decisions? You seem to think it's PGI and the community's fault that you die horribly when you bring a knife to a gun-fight.

Newbies and solos who want to do decent at FP recognize those truths and make adjustments, complainers write nasty posts and ask to get a trophy for participation.

Well I can only give you the facts I know but considering that most if not all the Marines I served with are successful in their life after service to our country, they are not alcoholics and are in the kind of shape that the odds of them dying at the age of 54 are remote to say the least then yes I'm saying that pansies that quit because they did not have the guts to face a little hardship and adversity for the most part are somewhere flipping burgers at the age of 45 because they can't handle things a normal life can throw at you. Or as Jack Nicholson said it best here....

*sighs*

I don't know what people are complaining about. I've been dropping with a team in Faction Warfare literally since day one, and I've had a blast.

If there's a problem...I can't see it...because I guess I'm not contributing to the problem. XD

Or maybe I am depending upon your perspective?

Said it before-I'll say it again.

Want to go solo? Play Quick Play. Want to go solo in Faction Warfare? Prepare to get smashed in the face.

I do drop solo in FP often and I do so with the recognition that if I get a pug or a small group we will get stomped in the face.... Why is that such a hard realization to some people? When that type of drop happens, my goal changes from winning the game to giving them as many black eyes as I can.... There is a ****-ton of fun in killing Pat in the middle of a 12-man -- even at the cost of your life.

Most of KCom agrees that shooting Pat in the middle of a huge firefight is part of what makes FW fun.

you stats now are not better than in january.
Basically you haven't learned anything since January. Your first month to play MWO you claim.

And yes knowing to play fps is not enough for this game. You need heat management, understanding what nominal weapon distance is and how it translates into damage you produce, positioning, what are hard points and how their placement translates in your way of shooting. etc.

FP is not that different (even siege mode) from group quick play mode. The only fundamental difference is possibility of "reinforcement" and the concept of "trading tonnage" which it implies.
People who do very well QP are thriving in FW and don't really care about team presence.

Even being total t5 potato during first month of my play in MWO with 100 score in QP I was making 500 damage regularly in FW (which translate into 100 match score usually). Claiming that a T1 players who snapped MWO in a start go had problems with FW. Do you seriously believe people are idiots here?

Way too sexy is better than 90 percent of the pilots out there. Not sure why your questioning that. Ask any real fw player. Sexy can mech
