Downside To Having Lrms Only Home If Narc/tag?

The downside would be nerfing an already underpowered weapon system.
There is nothing wrong with having a weapon system in the game with indirect fire support through normal target locks, stop talking about LRMs as if they were a problem that needs to be fixed, they're not.

Give SRMs a very minor tracking capability on NARC'd targets. Pretty sure there were non-striker SRMs that worked that way in lore.

That's still making NARC situational due to over-reliance to specific weapons.

Hey, you just said making it less reliant on LRMs. Don't move your goalpost like that. :P

But yeah, that's about the best I've got for buffing NARC beacons.

I thought it would be understood, given the context of the thread.

But anyways, NARC and TAG needs to be their own weapons, but first LRMs need to not be too damn reliant.

But yeah, that's about the best I've got for buffing NARC beacons.

Strap a Flare to the NARC beacon so that the enemy is well illuminated in dark environments and blinded both in the heat vision and night vision modes. HAve fun with a weapon that can have a bit more use than just an LRM magnet. Not close anything BT related, but can suit this game.

As for increasing LRMs spread and buffing their damage resulting in random dibilitating hits... Well, did you, gentelment, enjoy the recieving end of Long Tom? Exaggeration, yes, but stil, the weapon system becomes just random high damage roll, and pepole here complained about RNG.

LRMs are already hot garbage, and I'll be even more angry about seeing the assault lance stacked with LRM boats, if LRMs are made even worse.

Why are we talking about nerfing one of the worst weapon systems in the game?

The traditional answer would be along the lines `bad lurms touched his Mech one time too many'. In other words, somedoby is constantly getting killed (or thinks that he is) by LRMs. And thats all.

Oh my goodness flares were so much fun to troll with in MW4. Fire a few at the enemy's cockpit and enjoy the tears! Combine with flamers for maximum trololoverdrive. Stunlocked, blinded... murdered by small laser headshots. Good times.

Postiives-

Fewer LRM boats in QP

Spotting/scouting is needed

NARC becomes desired

Forces LRM boats to get LOS if no spotter, or carry NARC

Negatives-

?



Seems kind of win/win. Rewards teamwork and reduces the issues with LRM boats and LRMs in general.


Upsides:

? Fewer people learn to get gud.

Downsides:

LRM disappear completely. NARC is already situational. There's a chance your team has no LRMs at all. Make LRMs NARC/TAG only and LRMs are useless. They're already garbage tier. If you can't find a way to neutralize that then you deserve to die to them.
