So on an omnipod quirk bonus In this case does RED mean good? ( as in it reduces the cooldown time until you can fire agan?

"Red Minus 5% cooldown time for ER PPC" ( linebacker)

So even though the quirks are RED ...the REDUCTION in cool down is good thing right? ( or am I reading this wrong and it adds time to the cooldown?)

Thanks

Red is a bad quirk - that means it's slower by 5%.

There are no "bad quirks" anymore. unfortutately, PGI colors all quirks with negative values red, but they are positive. like -10% spread, which means stuff is hitting a tighter space. or cooldonws of -x% which actually means you can shoot more often.

http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/

here at the battlemech tab below the battlemechs are all quirks listed.

So then this is a GOOD thing correct? (ER PPC COOLDOWN: -5.00 %). It is in RED but it is a positive thing ( shoot more as you sad) is that correct? And thanks for the replys

So now I am confused as some of you are saying it IS a cool down on the time it takes to be able to shoot the ppc again, and then some say it takes longer to shoot?

Red quirks are bad, regardless of the number. A red -5% means it takes 5% longer vs a Green -5% which means it's 5% less.
Example:
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...irks_heavy_clan
MDD-B LEFT TORSO
MISSILE COOLDOWN: -5.00 % MISSILE HEAT GENERATION: -5.00 %

See how the cooldown -5% is red - that means it takes longer for the missiles to recycle on cooldown, vs the heat gen -5% which is green?

Ahhhhh....ok Thank you MrJeffers. I now fully understand. So if it had a GREEN 5% ppc cooldown...that would be good. ( shorter recycle time). But since it is a RED 5% ppc recycle...that's bad....longer time between shots.

Thanks for the replies a thank you for the link....I now fullyunderstand

Someone mind telling me where these supposed negative quirks are? Because I'm 99.99% sure that they don't exist any more.

What, are you joking.

Smurfy aparently lists quirks that reduce something, with RED. Reducing cooldown, however is good. The game will display it green.

Only few negative, bad quirks exists. I know Timber Wolf has one ST omnipod that has negative quirks, others Im not familiar, but if there are, they are pretty rare. And Night Gyr -100% enviroment effect reduction is I believe listed as negative. The game will list these two, with red. The Night Gyr quirk can be considered overall, on average, a negative, but on hot maps it's pretty positive quirk.

the numbers are multipliers, when a wepaon has 4s cooldown and -5% cooldown this emans

4s * 1 -0,05 which make sit having 95% cooldowntime. and this is POSITIVE.

the amount of nonsense in this thread is amazing and just dhows how some colors mess peoples mind up.

there were in the past negative quirks, like increased ooldowns, but somehow PGI changed them to not exist anymore (nearly) because poeple had a "bad relation" to these quirks and feel like their mechs would be "nerfed" -even if just having to be for some balance" and so they removed negative effects at all. but a negative number now is not a disadvatage anymore it is always a positive impact. Exception is the TBR which has some ST's with less yaw agilit and a very low amount of mechs with some less yaw angle/second. but there are no negative (bad) weapon quirks anymore.

In the end, don't get fooled by colors, just look at the effect it lists to know what it does.

Don't trust the red on smurfy, trust the red in game. I can assure you the linebacker in game has no negative quirks, you can check in the store, the linebacker prime cool down is a positive (beneficial) quirk.

Take a look at the 3E ST for the TBR. They're there still.
