Greetings MechWarriors. Today I have a simple idea. Given the rise of the latest LRMpocalypse and the numerous threads demanding that LRMs be re-balanced I have created a list of things we can do to make them EVEN MORE POWERFUL! They're still underperforming! Look at the match scores, kills, etc from pilots relying solely upon these weapons! They're simply not doing well enough! So, after we nerf the King Crab, Firestarter and Black Knight we should...

1.Double LRM velocity. This will also provide an indirect buff to the velocity nodes and bring LRMs closer in speed to SRMs.

2.Reduce spread. LRMs should have zero spread, but target a random body part, like SSRMs.

3.Reduce heat. About 0.5 should be fine.

4.Increase damage. Each IS LRM should deal 1.15 damage bringing them closer in damage per missile to SRMs.

5.Pass through solid terrain to reach your target. Why? For the glory of Emperor Cazidin!

With these small, incremental changes, I think that LRMs will go from being a fire suppression weapon to a skirmisher and main armament without being TOO overpowering. What does everybody else think?

I'll say yes, if only to make all the LRM hating babies angrier.

God damnit, Cazidin, one of these days Paul is going to decide to take community advice, he's going to see one of these sarcasm threads of yours, mistake it for sincerity, and then the voices in his head will start telling him it's a good idea and then he will make it so. Please stop.

I'd say you've got a good start here. But IMHO, what will really bring LRM's to comp-level is the ability to lock onto a target mech's head.

Make it so that each missile has a 50% on impact to heal the target mech instead of damaging it. That'll add balance.

Tina barely reads these forums and it's quite literally her one job. Do you really think Paul will ever come here?

Hmm... OK but we'll need to remove their ability to crit, like Gauss Rifle headshots.

You forgot that LRMs need a weapons tree node for instant teleportation to target - stacks with velocity to push target backwards.

I wish I had one job that I barely ever had to do.

They need to hit the area with the least amount of damage and do 4 times the number of crits.

You're not wrong, but if I were community moderator I'd... actually want to do something.

I just wish LRMs were beam-riding with TAG for that cool ATGM guidance feel. Posted Image

I was ComMod for Warframe for almost a year - and I wanted to do something. Trust me, you don't want that. It kills you on the inside and you only talk to the wall behind the wall the public has to deal with. My fave moment was, when the lead developer in a later chat asked me why I never mentioned all the gripes I had. Told him I filed weekly reports based on community feedback. "I never saw those." RIP

I actually agreed with this up until the pass through solid terrain part.

I'm so very tired of seeing players wander into the open, ignore blips on their radar that aren't also directly in front of their reticle, and continue moving out of defensible terrain in favor of finding something to shoot at early...
... that I'd actually like if LRMs were dangerous instead of frustrating.

Could you message me a few of those moments/share experiences? I'm honestly curious what it was like from someone who has actual experience, unlike Tina. Posted Image

*I'm kidding, Tina. You're OK.

LRMs need to ignore armor, going straight to internal structure.

Honestly that velocity buff isn't too bad an idea. Someone who's paying attention might even take one full salvo before getting behind cover.

They still pay someone to be a community moderator? An auto-post bot would do a better job I think.
