So i just wasted 30 minutes of my time because i could not reconnect to a FP game quick enough. This is ridiculous. 2 minutes to reconnect? thats too short. I can understand 2 mins for quickplay, as thats not that big of a loss of time or other stats, but for FP? I had to restart my computer because PGIs game broke. Now i do have an SSD, so reboot doesnt take that long, but PGIs game takes forever to load anything. I have over 200 mechs, so it does take forever to load all of those. Plus it takes forever to reload active maps.

For the love of all thats good on this earth, PGI please increase the reconnect threshold to 5 minutes for FP games.

I agree. Between the time the computer can be locked up, the time it gets to click off the 'The program has encountered an unexpected error' window, which allows the "We are collecting data to send on the crash" window to proceed, which then asks you to confirm, so now you can re-start the launcher, which pops up a message that the launcher is going away, so now you can log in, which wants to play you videos, then you get in and it pops up another window or two, then you get to click play, locate your match, and MWO spends another 20 seconds dropping you into it...

On several crashes I haven't made it back in 2 mins (usually because something in RL added a 20 or 30 second delay in the above). Other time I have clicked through the above list as fast as possible and still made it back in with only seconds to spare.

Why should there be such a tight time limit on restarting a crashed match? It's not like it's an abusable feature.

I agree that 2 minutes is way too short, but I propose this novel idea. Instead of asking PGI to increase the time, maybe they could, I don't know ... make the game more stable. Also some general UI optimizations that allow the mech lab to load in under 1 minute would be greatly appreciated.

I did tweet Russ and proposed 3 minute wait time for QP, and 5 minute wait time for CW. Cause some players might require computer restart, or some players have less than good PC.

I don't see why we need a timer at all.

Because it can't tell the difference between DC from crash/internet with DC from intent.

Yes. But what does it matter if they return in 2 minutes or 10 minutes their mech is still standing or dead wherever they disconnected from either way.

Its really not like if you intentionally DC and come back deep into a FP match like you are going to regain any of the points you'd accumulate through the match anyhow. Get a few LP? Maybe if you are lucky, could just tie that into a min match score.

I've never had an outright crash since they fixed the black/yellow screen bugs, but I still don't see the point of a return timer - especially with how long it takes the game to load the main screen from log in which only increases the more mechs you accumulate.
