Jumped a Griffin between two buildings, just past the destroyed roadway leading from upper to lower city across the water from Citadel. Mech landed and got stuck, jump jets would not recharge (presumably the spot counted as 'in air?') and the mech would not move forward or back or turn, though the kph gauge eventually got up to around 20 at which point the mech point of view would rubber band slightly out of place and back.
Main issue is ground detection for the jump jets near that destroyed roadway as it leads toward ocean, because if the jets recharged properly a pilot could jump out of the terrain detection problem. Refining the geometry of the roadway and buildings there would also do the trick, as there is space for a Griffin to fit visually without problem.
