And is the backer atlas only for battletech or does one also receive an MWO version?

Don't think so, i bought mine yesterday and got the key in an hour.
Any no the two games aren't linked, so the atlas just goes to BT

I believe you can still back it here. https://battletech.b...preorders/75904
As for the Atlas it is only for the Battletech game and is not connected to MWO.

Yep, 60$ "MechWarrior - Reinforcements" gives you access to the beta.

Any pics of the Atlas out there? Would be helpful to decide whether to either back or just back off until release.

I think its this guy? Not sure. Also, don't ask why the vindicator is the same size as an Atlas lol I dunno...I'm sure they'll be doing rescaling...or maybe not or it might get hard to see certain mechs?

As a side note all models in the game came from PGI directly...so that PGI's handy work you're seeing there.

Squirrels?!?! Tasty squirrels...must chase...but please warn the Vindicator pilot that even squirrels have melee combat in that game and can be very dangerous.

The Vindicator is on a raised elevation relative to the Atlas. Also, the skull motif is good enough for me...backed.

Check your backer account, I got the e-mail but it seems others haven't even though their key is available. I would assume they've supplied everyone keys but are 'notifying' them in waves to reduce DL stress.

Its great so far honestly, some still rough features and its a limited beta test obviously. Can't wait to play the full version and the campaign which I think I'll enjoy much more than the simple skirmishes (though the skirmishes have their place if you want to just simply play a quick game with no future consequences to your campaign).

HOWEVER, the game is not the same. Battletech is still more of a Tabletop style strategy game, while Mechwarrior holds the first person shooter category. Looking forward to the Mechwarrior 5 release and the future of MWO to improve upon the series, but its nice to see Battletech coming in the future for variety of the IP. Hopefully we'll see more progress and variety, maybe even a new Mechcommander in the future that takes the best of MC1 and 2 and continues to expand on it.

I might even be one of the minority, but I'd love to also see a new Mechassault for some kickass arcadey mech action.

Not sure that is the Atlas you get.

Played some today, was a LOT of fun, fun I have not had in MWO in a while.

However I also went to the forums afterwards for a dose of reality. I did note problems while playing and it appears others have too.

I honestly thought this game was going to be awful because of how awful and slow the table top game is.
Then I saw all the youtube livestreams and I am delighted to be so wrong!
I AM SO SO PUMPED TO HAVE ANOTHER RTS THATS WORTH THE DAMN MONEY!

RTS stands for REAL TIME STRATEGY.

Battletech is turn-based.
