Ok I've a couple of minor annoyances and well I am bored and want to poke some stuff.

1. The info panels on mechs (yes I've taken an old pic)

Just what the hell does that diamond shape thing actually tell you? No idea what firepower is out of or the heat managment thing. this has to be the most useless information ever; as it means almost nothing to me.

And by god the quirk list now with the Skill tree is unworkable. the list is too long

I don't get the acceleration rate or the turn speed from this (as far as I can tell).

There has to be a better way of setting the information out.

And finally on this subject. Could we have a bit of flavour added to the mech info. For gods sakes http://www.sarna.net has background info on all the mechs.

It would be really really nice if there was written description of the mech and what it is good and bad at. I am sure if they asked nicely the community would write it for them.

2.

I have a 3 monitor set up 5760 x 1080. However the info panel gets split between two different screens.

Also when using the mech bay the mech info panel still pops up and obscures half the loadout when there is an entire other screen for it. Why can't i drag the info panel to where I want it.

In re written descriptions...this has been asked for repeatedly for the more than two years that I have been playing. People have gone so far as to volunteer their services to PGI to creat such background entries or port over Sarna info into whatever format PGI may want. All such offers and requests have been met with silence. I for one would think that mere link for each mech entry to the appropriate sarna info would be minimally viable way of adding this info. Apparently PGI continues to disagree.

As to the information "diamond". It was supposed to be a cornerstone of the info-tech and rebalance effort in 2015.
See the following for Paul's explanation if interested: https://mwomercs.com...lance-and-pts/.

Because a three monitor setup is the exception rather than the norm, and most games don't support that kind of setup.

Ok, being able to move some info panels would be good ... and they did it with the new chat window ... but it still has problems ... so no high hopes.

Might be useful if the values meant anything at all on their own. But one of them is tonnage, as far as I know there is no difference in how the mech runs based on how much tonnage you've used. So no one has an underweight mech.

It means nothing because PGI seems to know nothing about the game

They give you BS numbers and made up values because they are doing just the same. Making stuff up it seems...

Even the Firepower gauge, what mech has 240 alpha?

So my follow on thought what info would you have in the panel:

How long you hold on to target when out of sight
Acceleration/ deceleration in time to 60mph

YEAH!

Give me some valid numbers, How long would it take to Dissipate 90% heat for example, Give me the overall effective range of my mech (so if you have LPL and Med your range is X before tree) listed in green, Maybe optimal and max ranges listed in green and red. Would also like to a HTAL with bars that filled as you dumped or added armor so i can actually SEE where i put the armor when i built this mech. Did i go full armor for brawl, is it a sniper with no arm weapons or armor? Can i see this BEFORE i click on the mech and take it into mechlab and not just a number value that doesnt show where it allocated.

Give me a little Sarna blip like you said in that huge bare area, tell me about the mech, some fluff. Let me think i just bought a machine to battle in not a toy.

There is a lot of stuff they could do there, but PGI does the bare minimum all the time and thinks its fu&%ing gold. Cant understand why we are upset with this ****.

I *really* hate "information diamonds". Wtf is wrong with bar charts?

It's some terrible creation of a project planner who could barely justify their job, so they invented a crap version of a bar chart to look like they were actually doing something to justify being paid, and now it's spread like a virus of mediocrity.

Why bar charts or graphs needed to be improved upon i will never know. Wasted energy IMO.

I guess it was too easy to gather info that was so nicely laid out for you they decided they wanted overtime and made it harder?

I'd buy a third monitor if I could get the game to even run decently across 2.

The diamond thing is a radar graph. It's mostly there just to look cool and take up space (in contrast a simple horizontal bar graph would convey the same information in less space). This radar graph in particular is bad because they don't even share the same axis (tonnage has no relation to firepower or heat or armor). They should at least normalize the axes to a 1 to 10 scale for all mechs so you can make easy comparisons (eg a locust would have 1 armor but the atlas would have 10 armor so you can at least compare the diamo d shapes across mechs). Also add mobility to the radar graph.
