How To Stop Terrain Popping

Any1 know how to fix/stop the terrain poping thats present in the game ?
I've finaly had enough dealing with it, so many of my rounds hit thin air from my perspective, its more a problem now due to the heavy use of peaking tactics being used by mechs with high hardpoint locations.
So, any fix ?

What do you expect? You want to nerf mechs with high mounts even further?
High mount weapons were always the choice to go and the mechs
with high mounts have been nerfed many time e.g. Stalker, Battlemaster, Kodiak.
Git gut thats you have to do not cry for nerfs of the mechs that kill you.

Hm ok probably I got I wrong. But whats you problem then?
That your shots go over the enemy mech when its poking? That you hit the terrain instead of the mech?
This would be a terran/hit-reg issue?

This.
However i called it what is is .. Terrain popping .. much like Texture popping.
Since i was asking for a fix , those who have a fix would know what i meant

Look through your zoom at the top of a incline (hill), then walk towards it ..its shape will deform as u get closer, as a hgher resolution 'model' is used.
Problem with this in a game such as MWO is that long range shots over the edge of said hill, are a PITA when som1 is just peaking over the top to shoot u ..they r right next to it and can see the full resolution , they know exaclty how much room they have. Those at range do not. Infact somtimes the enemy mech can be entirly consealed from your point of view.
Anyway like i said its been present since Day dot, i just dealt with it, but with so many mechs now aroudn with high hardpoint locations that are ablle to peak above such hill very well, tryign to fire back from range is somtimes inpossible.

He's talking about the terrain LOD switching being extremely aggressive. At certain ranges, the terrain renders at a lower level of detail, so geo that's actually there turns invisible. The result is hitting terrain that you can't see...and then you get close and it pops in and you go "oh that's f*cking stupid."
Then, of course, there are the collision boxes being bigger than any level of detail, i.e. HPG. Similar result.

He is talking about when viewing enemy mechs at range, on some maps if they are behind certain types of cover, from your vantage point you have a clear line of sight to the enemy torso, at least the upper part. When you shoot however you will see your projectiles or weapons fire hit the "invisible" cover that is actually just the real terrain in the way.
I dont know if its the game code that removes the call to render said terrain on your end as i guess its optimisation work or it thinks you cant see it so why render it, but in actual fact the cover is very real and is very much there. Your client just failed to show it to you.
If you move forward and backwards say 50-100 meters or so usually you can see it "pop in and pop out"
(I find it a lot on some of the Ice levels like Polar, its not super common but it happens enough to be a pain)

Whoa, full attack mode on a innocent question about terrain not loading right.
I wonder how many people have you on ignore if this is how you treat people.

Cut him some slack. He Thought OP wanted mechs that poke over a hill and shoot you with high mounted weapons to be nerfed.

I can imagine what he thought, but if he had taken half a second to read more than just the high mounts mention he would have realized the problem wasn't with high mounts but with incorrectly displaying terrain which is made worse by having so many mechs with high mounts peeking.
No body benefits from a Git Gud reply, no matter how warranted it doesn't do anyone any good.
Sounds like the guy uses high mounts and thinks everyone that mentions them is attacking him personally.

Developers who take pride in the quality of their workmanship fix such things. Would you like to buy a Mech Pack?
