hey guys need some help with MC2

basically to cut the long story short,
when i fresh install Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1,
and the install MC2, everything works good.

however, after that windows update tells me there are like 190 important updates.
installing all these updates then causes MC2 to stop working.

I double click on MC2, it starts to load with a black window, but then quickly crashes and disappears.
it doesn't even get the startup MC2 picture.

deleting the badcard and vidcard files doesnt work.
rolling back my graphics driver to the original doesnt work.
running it in any compatibility mode doesn't work.
the only thing has been to fresh install windows 7 and MC2 again and hold off the updates.

does anyone know which windows 7 update is causing this issue and why?

Are you using the retail version or the shared soure release?

If it is the shared source release, you could try installing an up-to-date windows sdk and recompiling MC2 from source.

Clearly it's one of the Windows 7 updates as the everything works good on my windows 7 sp1 without updates

all I can sugest is look up Mechcommander Omnitech
that is a fan done upgrade to MC2, including a few extra campaigns and a lot of extra Mechs and weapons added to a few of the expansion campains

I have never had any problems running that on Windows 7 ^{(but then again my retail MC2 also works fine on fully upgraded Windows 7)}
