Greetings MechWarriors. Today I have a simple question. Since this is the only good mech in the upcoming civil-war pack let's theorycraft some builds for it and which variants are good. Are the reinforcements or the hero pack worth the extra cost?

dual gauss/dual ERPPC. Both the 1 and 2 can do it. Hero as well, but not needed

Doing twin Gauss twin ppc on the 2 is a wasteful lol...

That one is all about the Splat....2x LBX20 & 4xaSRM6 (or so)

The 1 sure can run that. but I will be running thay close to stock or swap the LRM10's for SRM6's.

The 4 probably all about the ATM's

The A...eh idk there

The B, 4xUAC5's or just any form of dakaka.

DS...Gauss Vomit or Gauss PPC.

Pretty much think large guns on a fast Assault. Ypu won't be a huge gun boat so don't expect to expect to be boating tons of weapons. 4 of the 6 varriants can bring dual gauss so thay should be your first clue in how to build and run them.

Errr... Let's see. How does a 60 degree torso twist angle with the same accel/decel/twist rate as the Kodiak sound?

Oh, you didn't mean that? You meant the actual loadouts? Well, apart from the usual Gauss/PPC builds which I won't comment on because I don't run them... I was thinking about 2xUAC10 + 2xERPPC or 2xUAC10 + 2xLPL on the MCII-2. MCII-4 should be able to run quad PPCs better than the Warhawk because of reasonably high mounts and jumpjets. As for MCII-1, I wonder what kind of heavy lasers we'll get. Say, 2xUAC10 + 4x heavy medium lasers? Or 2xUAC10 + 4xMPL? I'm running the latter on one of my MAD-IICs, and it works well, but gets pretty hot. Those extra 5 tons should help. And yes, I am a big fan of putting dual UAC10s on all mechs that can support them :)

No. It'll have about 80-90 degrees and the same accel/decal/twist as the Executioner...

Yup not a 100 tons... 100 tonnage is a dead class now unless you're a masochist.

Sorry for digging this one up, but I didn't feel like creating a new threat... And this one isn't that old yet.

The builds I want to do:
  • MCII-1: 2x Gauss, 2x ERPPC, the metacat. Pretty obvious build. This is why the MCII is gonna get nerfed once its out for C-Bills (instead of PGI addressing the Gauss/PPC interaction itself)
  • MCII-1(S): 2x Gauss, 2x LPL, 2x ERML. Gonna be a tight fit, but I might squeeze that, an XL350, 5 tons or so of ammo, a TC1 and 14 to 15 DHS into the damn thing (if I drop the JJs).
  • MCII-2: 2x LB20X, 4x (A)SRM6. If this thing can't make me enjoy brawling, nothing can.
  • MCII-4: No clue. Maybe I'm just gonna stuff ATMs into the damn thing. Or LRMs and ERLLs for the lulz? Probably gonna be my least used variant unless ATMs are actually good.
  • MCII-DS: Gonna be a mimicking my SNV-C's quad LPL build, but it'll run a little faster. It can't field the four ERMLs the SNV-C carries, so I'm either gonna cut back to just two ERMLs or maybe run two HMLs.
Not gonna bother with the reinforcements, though. I'd rather have the Collectors pack for the (S) version of the MCII-1 and the premium time over the MCII-A and -B. The -B might be sweet for dakka, but with UAC jam chances the way they are... nah.

Aside from the obvious PPFLD builds, I'm gonna try the 4xCLB10X on the MCII-B. Sound at least would be fun to hear.

For the MCII-4, ATM-9x4, heavy medium laser x4.

I swear Wolverine would pilot a Kodiak ASAP if only for those "cosmetic" retractable claws, murmuring to himself "Remind me of me!"

I look forward to Nightstar vs MC II duels.. Let that Nightstar have those extra 5 tons, well since MC II got lighter clan tech..

Dual Gauss and whatever floats your fancy as long as it synergizes. Whatever the MAD-IIC can do since the Mad Cat Mk2 will be able to do better. Splat builds like a champ. This thing will be a really high priority to kill so try and keep it at a mid range game until you're needed as a first line 90ton gunship. Be mindful of your arms though because if those goes get ready for a crap ton of hurt from the Gauss.

I want to see what the new heavy lasers and ATM's are like, but my gut tells me that they'll just be inefficient compared to the PPFLD shenanigans we already have.
