TBH that just sounds like Gordon Ramsay, and people look up to him as a chef. ;)

All jokes aside, I've had... An embarrassing amount of online tantrums in my life, and I'm definitely going to have more. It's an emotional response that happens when you're heavily invested in something, and you feel like it's being damaged/wasted in some way. Now, you better have some actual constructive criticism in there or I'll laugh at it, but I don't fault people for having an occasional tantrum*.

*Assuming it is not a mean spirited tantrum, aimed at a specific person, or type of person, intending to just be a jerk.

Yes context definitely matters, and one of the main aspects I have found about forums, is that many players only utilise the forum when they encounter what they perceive to be an issue, that has disrupted their gameplay. That definitely has to be taken into account, but it is at least a little surprising what people expect to get away with or for other people to put up with online.

Have you considered the notion that peoples' favorite Mechs and equipment might be their favorites because they are particularly powerful or effective relative to the rest of the game's assets?

This is very true. My bushwacker is the most powerful mech in the game. Yet I am the only one who knows this secret...

Run a LPLas+3 AC/2 Bushwacker some time. It's amazing.

Sure but as an adult in the real world when you get a product that doesn't fully live up to personal expectations, do you bring this up calmly with the relevant parties, or do you rant and rave in the store you bought it, proclaiming superiority in how you would have done it and inferiority on the part of the creators of the product.

"Um, excuse me I ordered this steak rare and it appears over cooked."
vs
"Stupid noob chef overcooked my ********* steak! Learn to steak you POS losers! Holy crap I could've cooked a better steak between my buttcheeks! **throws plate at kitchen** Cook me another right ********* now!"

Which one fits?

Well... you know the old saying.. the squeaky wheel gets the grease.

Both of those hypothetical examples of the restaurant are squeaky wheel situations, both might "get you the grease", but one might get you banned from the restaurant, or put in a courtroom defending yourself, or worse.

I enjoy following the forums for the occasional well written post lauding a mech or a tactical/statistical breakdown of a mechanic or strategy. However, what mostly pops up in my news feed is "THIS GAME IS **** BECAUSE..." So let me take a moment to express my opinions:

1. If you don't like MWO, don't play. Really, it's that simple.
2. If you can make a better game go make it. Maybe I'll give you my money too!
3. If you can't post a coherent argument that doesn't amount to "I DON'T LIKE IT AND YOU SHOULDN'T EITHER" I don't and won't care about whatever it is you think would make the game better and I hardly think the devs do either.

Side notes: Stop trying to shame LRM users. I just disco'd from specing a match on Caustic where an atlas had two weapon groups: AC20 + 4 SRM4, 4 SRM4 (no chain.) What should be shamed are the splat builds people use but hey, I'll keep my mouth shut if the alphawhores do too.

That guy calling targets in the pink mech who doesn't overheat all the time and has a decent comprehension of how to play the game despite the changes,

Milkshakes <o<^-._.-^>

PS Does anyone else but me remember the alpha build? You know, when missiles went through mountains?

Sounds like someone is salty because they're getting rightfully mocked for their bad builds they insist on bringing into matches.

It'd be funny if it wasn't sad.
