from the second Pokemon game/region in Gold and Silver most pokemon have genders, and on most games there is a physical diferance between male and female, the Nido family is the only one where the gender diferance is significant enough that someone decided to catagorise them seporately.

Pokemon Go added genders last Christmas. Each Pokemon now has a male or female sign, and they have some physical differences. Girl Pikachu has a different tail end than the Boy Pikachu for example. When they evolve to Raichu, each respective Raichu gender has a different tail end. One of the more obvious is the girl Wobbafet has lipstick.
