Please re-use assets if you can make some extra maps..
HPG MOON, and tourmaline desert... (add new shoot through/UNDER terrian to it.. Think of those unique rock structures in the Arizona desert) Make low slug arms a reason to have verse everything a damn hill humpfest
You know since you bring it up, I don't understand why they don't just re-use assets. I mean I would love to see kind of Flattened out Caustic without the big volcano in the middle or a huge city map the size of Polar where it is just rows and row of buildings like those used in River City or Crimson Straight. Hell how about a desert map based on Canyon Network, except it is just a small hills, rocks and a few ridge lines to break up the map? You could basically take just about any map we have, use the same textures and assets but in a rearranged fashion and come up with an entirely new map. Also if the left out dominating terrain features like the Citadel on River City, the Volcano on Caustic, etc and just kind of flattened things out then they don't even really have to pay attention to balancing the map because battles would be much more free form happening wherever the two teams eventually met up. Polar is a prime example of this. Fights take place all over the map rather than everyone converging on the Citadel or some such. If Polar actually had enough hard and high enough cover scattered about to allow players a place to hide away from LRMs it would be the perfect map in my opinion.
Anyway, everyone says it is hard to make a map, however if they are just re-using and rearranging assets like this, there should be no reason we couldn't have at least half a dozen maps in a very short time.
