My first introduction to the Battletech universe was through an old game called MechAssault for the XBOX and I loved that game a ton. Ever since then, my favorite mech of all time was the Ragnorok and its twin the Ymir for how awesome they were. When I started playing MWO, I had really hoped I could pilot those mechs again but alas they weren't in the game. The other assaults all seem to pale in comparison to those two REAL assault mechs.

So what's the chances of these two mechs ever making it into MWO? How does PGI choose which mechs they put in the game next? Do you have a favorite mech that hasn't been added in the game yet?

Ragnarok, that's Word of Blake? So it's past the Civil War, so very slim unless we get a timeline skip.

Ymir is kind of in the same boat as the ANH, I would think. It is an older mech, but didn't see use until much later.

IS Light- Sling: Prototype mech that gave way to the Mist Lynx. How can I not want it?

IS Medium- Sha Yu: Another "Medium Raven" type Capellan mech(ie: fast chicken-walker with high technology), albeit lighter than the much more popular Men Shen. Comes with Stealth armor by default.

IS Heavy- Lancelot: A better Rifleman. No, seriously, this thing's LNC25-01 variant alone renders the Rifleman obsolete.

IS Assault- O-Bakemono: Basically, this thing is a Longbow but with better hitboxes.

Clan Light- Howler: In terms of Volumetric scaling, the Howler is the best 20 tonner Clans could hope for, unlike that walking roadsign known as the Piranha.

Clan Medium- Great Wyrm: A 45 ton Dragon thats better than the original Dragon 1N. What's not to love?

Clan Heavy- Woodsman: Clan Wolf's first Heavy Omnimech, and not a bad chassis either. Very similar to the Timby in terms of loadout(on the Prime), the use of a standard engine makes it pretty tanky, and MASC helps deal with the lack of speed.

Clan Assault- Hellstar: A 95 ton Clan Awesome. Me want.

I'd wish you luck if it weren't for the fact that I utterly despise everything from that era, especially that mech. So, sorry, but I'll be actively campaigning against you if you ever push for it to be added. :P

Anyways, my own personal ones are pretty slim now. Basically just the Kingfisher, Piranha, Firemoth, and the Flea on my personal wishlist. Oh, and for hilarity's sake, the Imp and Rifleman IIC.

ARGUS. It's a teeny box with weapons thrown on as an afterthought. I want it so bad I can TASTE IT.

I didn't realize anyone else liked the Argus. Neat.

The Ragnoarok is a non-canon mech. Chances are next to null to see it in MWO.

Warhammer IIC.

We already have Marauder IIC so we will probably get Whammy IIC soon.

What makes you despise that era so much?

Wow, complicated question....

IS:

Lights:

STG-A10 Stinger LAM:

Not a hope in hell really, Russ doesn't like Land Air Mechs (he's scared of them), and to be fair, a lot of player base is against LAM's

Mediun:

A toss up between the PHX-HK-1 Phoenix Hawk LAM or the GTL-1O Gauntlet IS Omni.

For the Pixi LAM, see Stinger LAM responce...

For Gauntlet, well out of time era, still she is a better Bushwacker... also stupid fast. 5/8 with MASC and a Super Charger.

Heavy:
I'm good, got my Warhammer

Assault:

TLR1-O Templar
An Omni-mech version of the Battlemaster, high hard points, huge sheild arms, could be a very solid IS Omni.

Clan:

Light;
Piranha, 20t of MG death

Medium:

Coyotl, the first Omni mech, good speed 7/11 (7/11/7 in A variant), max efficient armour for 40t, the art has hard hard points and just over 1/3rd of it's weight is open for pod space (15.5t in prime, 12t in Alpha).

Heavy:
I'm good

Assault:

Warhammer IIC, 80t of F-U.

Stone Rhino. I remember it vaguely from Ghost Bear's Legacy, and love it's shape. Would be interesting to see it's adaption into MWO.

When it comes to chances of seeing them in game, I'd say: Never say Never, but be prepared for a long wait (and you might not like what it will cost you.)

In Star Trek Online it was said for many years that there would never be an endgame Constitution Class (aka original Enterprise). Presumably, this was actually mandated by CBS, since it was obvious Cryptic could make a nice amount of money from it. But something changed, and last year it became available. THat means it took about 6 years to come to fruition. ANd the way it was enabled was as a special promotion where you have a _chance_ to win the ship if you buy and open a certain pack in the C-Store. (You either buy countless of these packs and hope to find it, or try to buy it off another player for ingame currency. Either way, it will be costly.)

They already have most of my favorite mechs. I guess I'd like to see the Stinger and the Wasp, both IS light mechs.
