Is there a way? I don't see it.
(outside of buying a new hero of course)

There is no way. Hero pods can only be bought with their mechs.

You nailed it. The incentive to buy the hero is so you can get access to the pods otherwise, why would anyone buy the hero?? I mean theoretically for the C-bill bonus or paint job but that is such a minor incentive it worth much, maybe $5 by itself.

I noticed the same thing recently. You can take the omnipods off the hero and put them on another variant. But, what a pain!!!

I think that if you own the hero you should be able to purchase as many additional hero omnipods as you want.

From who's perspective ? The cheapskate F2P players uninterested in supporting the company or the company that needs to stay in business ?

If they really want money from all players they should make them buy the game. Keeping game assets behind a paywall and thus giving disadvantages to people that play for free in a play for free title is just disgusting.
fail... there are very few Hero mechs that even come close to being the best variant. The new ones that were OP such a stink was raised on the forums that cbill variants are going to released at the same time. Save your P2W whining for where it is warranted like WoT or Star Citizen

There is never a reason not to whine over P2W , as PGI is/was dancing on the fine line , more so that they needed a loud outcry to curb that tendency with the latest wave of clan omni heroes, that made them release new varients with somewhat comparable omnipods...
So yeah, complain, a lot and loud and as often as possible, sometimes it works out...
Also seriously stop with the PGI is my buddy mindset , PGI stated several times every purchase you make , you are making it not to "support/crowd fund the game", or "giving them a tip", you are buying something that they consider has the value of what you are paying, so by there logic you are no more supporting the game then all the other non paying customers, and you are dealing with a company so you might as well negotiate as best as you can for your self, as they are and will keep doing it so for them self's as best as they can.

it would be a better game if everyone paid $60 up front and there was no bs. its to late for that but im so glad mw5 wont be using the f2p model, i wouldnt buy into it otherwise. this is my first and last f2p title. i miss the 90s model of game development, where dev teams were small game prices were predictable and bargain bins were abound and there were demos so you could see if the game you were buying was garbage before you bought it. its more or less the model most indie games use. you dont need to be aaa to be a good developer and using the f2p model pretty much guarantees you wont be.
