Me at first I was all about the RACs (rotary auto cannon), but the more I though t about it their spool up time, the jam chance, and the fact it is only in 5 and 2s means you have to boat them to be useful. On top of that you have to have faith that PGi wont do something crazy too ...

But since I doubt it will work like that on top of the other mentioned reasons earlier I have now switch gears and am looking forward to the ATMs and MRMs. With some of the medium and light Inner Sphere mechs that have a few missile hard points the large volume MRMs will help them out, (example: 40 MRM).

For the clan an ATM of 3, 6, 9, or 12 and then boat them ... so my Jenner IIC loaded with 6 ATM 3s? Why not, and slap that clap or lap in or both maybe to help negate the ECM. Considering the ATMs should do more damage at close range makes this great for light hunting and stil usable when the enemy gets out past the distance a streak would go.

Them for bigger mechs and those who want to lrm boat now can have a few big packs of ATMs for anti light mech. Example of that would be 2 ATM 12s with a tone of ammo or two.

On a hypothetical level MRMs... but knowing PGI, reserving any kind of drooling until new tech hits PTS, or at least a dev post containing all the numbers and mechanics.

New tech is why I haven't skilled my IS mechs yet.

Not drooling, but high hopes..... (unless pgi screws even this....)

On that topic, it'll be interesting to see where the CT energy goes. Right now, the laser goes in the middle of the CT, right between the legs. If there's a PPC there... o.O

I already heard somethnig of ramp-up and ramp-down times on Rotaries ,which sounds like it's not just fundamentally ********, but also a poor mechanic. But we'll see.

ER Micro Lasers.
You can put 9 to 11 on a Viper, with +6 DHS. Even more on a Nova. Stormcrow. And you will have loads of tonnage.

HMGs.
8x HMG Cheetah, hnnng. Finally it is time to brrrrt.

I've been careful which Mechs I've skilled up thus far, with an eye towards the new weapon systems. ATMs are the one weapon system I'm really interested in. They should be good laughs at short range, and fairly satisfying at mid-range.

MRMs may be nice, especially if mechs that are LRM quirked get quirks for MRMs, too.

Might breathe some life into old missile boats in an age of Radar Derp and ECM on every third mech.

Light PPC.

At last, a weapon that exists in the tonnage range between Medium Pulse Laser (2 tons) and Large Laser (5 tons). Some of my mech builds benefit from having a long ranged energy weapon that's less than 5 tons.

I'm most excited about RACs.

I think MRMs are going to break the game for a week or two.

Curious about whatever changes they have in store for lasers too.
