I'm going to playing an impromptu 24 hour stream marathon, for the purpose of raising money for my local food bank - Sandhills Food Bank.

The difference between this and other amazing charity streams here is that I will NOT be accepting any outside donations.

Instead, I will be donating $1 worth of non-perishable food to my local food bank, for every kill that I achieve during this 24 hour stream.

The stream will run from 10:30am EST today (Saturday) until 10:30am EST (Sunday).

I hope to see your words of encouragement during the stream to help me secure lots of kills and stay awake later tonight.

Pictures of the donation will be provided in this thread on Monday, mostly for your satisfaction and to show that this is a legit event.

I don't earn a lot at my job, but that's not important, because I know what it is like to eat ramen daily. Or worse yet - nothing. I'm hoping to get close to 200 kills, but who knows. Today is my birthday and I feel lucky to be alive and well-off enough to be able to play this silly game and have so much fun with it. There are people out there who are not as fortunate, so I think this will be a great way to give back to the world and keep a bit of healthy perspective on "my" day.
Thank you for reading, and have a nice weekend.

PS - It started 15 minutes ago and I've already racked up 5 kills in the first round. ;)

Good on you. That's a noble cause. Regardless of all the drama prior, kudos.

Bravo. Just remember to not be one of those team rage-ers when the pugs do badly. We all have that happen but if you want higher viewers and donations being one of those team-sucks guys at end of a match is bad. As said above drink and eat properly as well as take small breaks between matches to stretch to keep blood flow. The less caffeine, energy drinks and sugar the better. I work outside in 80 plus degree heat doing heavy lifting. Energy bars and Gatorade will help you a lot but you still need water.

I'm donating my own money, I'm not taking donations.

Thank you for your suggestions and support (that goes for everyone).

9 1/2 hours in, and I've already racked up $101 kills. This is a lot of fun! Should I donate canned potatoes in bulk or something? Posted Image

Just went past $200 kills, some time in the 19th hour!

I got 5 hours left, and I don't know if I can make it, but I'm giving it all I got. Come stop by and tell me what you think of MechWarrior Online, tell me about your favorite mech, your thoughts on patch notes, whatever. Help me stay awake and killin! :) :D

You could always discuss mechs you'd like added or map ideas in between matches.

Ok yall that was so fun! :)

I actually fell asleep in my chair waiting for a Faction Warfare match at around 8:45-9:00am, so technically this was a 22 1/2 hour stream marathon haha! Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image

I ended up with 215 kills, for a total of $215 raised for Sandhills Food Bank!

Thank you everyone who supported this event, tonight I will be buying a bunch of groceries, and I'll be dropping them off during lunch break tomorrow. I will take pictures and provide them in this thread for your satisfaction. :)

Anyone that thinks this event is a "lie" should be absolutely ashamed of themselves as a human being, and I won't address that again.

I hope one day that I can do this again, when I have a bit of cash saved up and the time, I'll see if I can make it the full 24 hours next time, and maybe I can rack up even more, like say $250, for another good cause! Have a great week. :)

I have video and pictures, will put something together as soon as I get off work (in a few hours).

I'll make sure to post the finished presentation here in thread.

Again, thank you to everyone who supported this, I had an absolutely wonderful time with this event, and hope that I have encouraged others with my actions to be helpful towards others in their life. I know it's not the biggest donation, maybe to some of you this is a weekly thing or something, but for me it was a truly important experience in my life and I really do hope to be able to run another similar event some day (maybe around the holidays in winter).

Stay tuned for the goodies! :)

What a noble and admirable cause. I find it hard to be as optimistic as yourself sometimes but I will endeavour to try harder.

Oh if I see you ingame next time again that you are doing something like this - I will protect you with my mechs life! (Not my own as im not that generous :P )
