-glowing Atlas´ eyes?
-Pada Vinsons userconfigs? Making MWO perform whilst PGI was busy shaving off yet another 10 FPS´s with each patch... and how they´ve banned userconfigs afterwards because people used them to make trees disappear instead of making the game beautiful *sigh*

Yea. The most notable thing was just how long things like this stuck around.

Wanna buy some (Clan) mechpacks?

Remember when there weren't Heavies so tall they didn't fit on the mechlab screen?
Remember when we actually had inter weightclass balance and inter-faction weightclass balance?
Remember when the game was so close to being balanced that all it would have taken was a small nerf to the durability quirks of a single hero mech to bring the game into balance?

Yea that was probably one of the biggest middle fingers thrown to the player base. They even had a video talking about all this awesome stuff that they hadnt even begun to make.
I dont like how it was ultimately dumped on IGP either, there were a lot of apoplectic players when all was said and done.

I dunno I never did it, but I remember it being really lame. Like on Alpine Peaks, going up that stupid hill while the other team just leap frogs around like a bunch of jackasses.

Made me stop playing for a few months. The image of cataphracts popping over that one perfect ridge on forest colony has burned into my retina (it´s a gif!).
srsly, talking about streak, boom and gausscats during the SHS and half armor times does´nt tingle my mech senses at all in any infavourable way compared to the lameness that poptarting had been!
Same goes for first lurmageddon. I cannot understand how anyone could´ve kept playing MWO during that time

Default settings here. This causes the Black Knight and the Grasshopper(as well as the Highlander and the Executioner) to be so tall they don't fit on the Mechlab screen.

actually, prior to the Rescale, there was a soft rock-paper-scissors balance where each weightclass, on average, beat the weightclass immediately below it, with Light beating Assaults due to their superior agility and smaller size. However, this system could be beaten via skill and certain chassis. For example, the Gargoyle was a good Assault for fighting Lights due to it's superior agility. Also, while Clans had, on average, better Mediums and Assaults, IS had better Lights and Heavies.

I haven't been. That last month before the Rescale was the most balanced the game has ever(and most likely will have ever) been, with the only issue being the Oxide's durability. Nerf that, and the game would have been balanced.

Remember when this happened?
Now, on the subject of a less low hanging fruit, remember when flamers were 100% worthless outside of blinding the enemy's vision by aiming at their cockpit? (Aka most of this game's lifespan) Remember when Paul would antagonize players by saying that the Timber Wolf would never get added? Remember when they threatened us with the Flea?
I remember. Good times.

I dont think your screen experience is universal. And yea, I dont remember when lights were properly scaled but the rescaling at least made things better. Cant follow you on the balance though.
