Normally I use the lct or jenners. I use them to hit and run or just poke. I got use to their speed and higher mobility to engage at will and disengage with minor return fire. When I try it with the KK I die.
I've been so use to the faster speeds I've rarely tried slower engines or gone non xl in a light. I have played a few clan mechs like the adr and kitfox but the clan lights just don't entertain me as much as is. Getting use to the KK's 250 engine cap has been a challenge.
The slower speed means I have to think about positioning and map layout a lot more. one thing I've done far more often is make heavy use of the com wheel. I spam enemy spotted as much as I use R for locks. Using target info is a must on the KK along with pick and choosing targets.
While I don't record and post many videos or all matches I've made screen shots of my games. The KK has no skill points yet. I could easily burn the 600 gxp I've got on it or use a month of banked pt but I've decided to do it the hard way so I can learn how to pilot the mech that much better.
I switch between two main builds on it. A std engine,case,jjx2, 3mls, srm 4 and one ton ammo or std, four spls, srm 6 1 ton ammo. I tried both (er)ppc that I removed for other lasers as my sight and aim with them is horrible. Often I find myself against another light so I go for dps and target it for any open or damaged armor.
Without doubt the hardest part in using the mech is remembering it doesn't have the speed I'm so use to. In the start of matches I tend to satellite around a heavy or go rear guard on a slow assault. Mid match I go for targets of opportunity. End match if I'm still alive I'm one of the chasers after enemy mechs or going for objectives.
This is a collage of some matches I've had. They swing wildly from lol noob pilot like to op must nerf on my damage and kills. Slowly I'm learning the KK and how to master it. Not dying to side torso with a cased std engine keeps me fighting a little longer.
