I was expecting to have some laughs when I got the mech. I wasn't expecting it to work well. I'm very glad I was wrong. So, what do you guys think of it? The game play, the siren, the general look, who is loving this little guy?

I am rather smitten with it.

But I may be biased. Still, I'm a lousy Light pilot, and I manage to do OK with it. Several of my buds are doing lights out with it.... or is that lights on in this case? Hmmmm?

Regardless, unless the match was a total bomb, I end it with a smile... and a flashing light bar...and a siren.....

I am loving it, I run Urbies anyway so to have one which i can get extra Cbills from it pretty much means this will be my stock mech

Urbies i think are fiendishly difficult to level on the new skill tree but once you get a foot hold (i concentrate on survival first) you can motor up

Best damage so far has been about 500 with an AC2 build

My only critism would be i reckon i could do with just one more ballistic slot

but love it

er... how do you use the siren?

The siren is toggled with L.

So far my best match was 3ml, 2mpl, and a machine gun. About 700, though I feel the lack of a big ac isn't true urbie.

the L button has just added more to my game than anything else

I went for that build too, it ran hot! will need some skill tree to make that work that well for me

Urbies are very solid mechs now that they're super tanky. Play the poke game and leave the backstabbin' nonsense to the (very few) lights who can pull it off.

Maybe when the new tech comes in ballistics will be worth it, but for right now laser vomit is legit. Nice part about the K9 being if you don't mind running a STD you can zombie with it because of those two energy points in the CT. Even with an XL though, if your arm gets blown off you aren't completely out of the fight like in the other variants.

I've routinely been able to put up between 500-600 damage in the R60L and the K9 in the few games I've had with it so far. Just slap an LPL and some MLs on then: poke, poptart, and amplify the damage of the bigger mechs on your team. Works really well. Most people either don't see you or ignore you as long as they have someone else to shoot at. Occasionally you'll get someone who thinks you're a cookie and Leeroys after you. Just spin than trashcan 180, run, and spam your JJs to break up their aim. If you're playing it right, you shouldn't be that far from your team and you can lead them right back to a firing squad.

The amount of energy hard-points are somewhat deceiving, not that i'm saying that it's ineffective but it's not all it's for. Put a big cannon there, it's actually effective with the 30% ballistic cooldown quirk.. :P

Big cannons are heavy. They also require ammo. Be efficient in your 30 ton mech and go lasers. Posted Image

I like all the urbies but I've gotta say the theming on this one is fantastic.

That and 4 mediums and a large laser has turned out to be a really fun build on it. Once the LFE's and heavy machine guns drop I'll likely adjust it further.

That's not really that bad. Two tons of AC5 ammo, on the AC5 of course, with a bunch of medium lasers worked fine for me.

The Church of Urbielightenment appreciates that you recognize the error of your build Fortunately we have a wide variety of Blessed Ballistics to choose from, to rescue you from the path of inequity. In fact, in just a little while longer, I can show you the Holy Rotary Autocannon of Antioch, with which you may smite thine enemies... by Urbies Mercy.

I think the "Heavy" in Heavy Machinegun is misleading you, if you think that sufficiently heavy for Lord Urbie......
