Clearly, these changes do not go far enough. We need more than just a mere reduction in damage... we need... an inversion in damage!
These weapons need to not only damage the enemy less- that isn't going far enough! They need to- dare I say it- heal the enemy! Yes, my friends, this must be the turning point. We can eliminate in one fell swoop not only the usefulness of small-class weapons as offensive options, but also the morally degenerate concept of killing enemies at all! With only one small step further, we can finally defeat this counterproductive and mutually destructive focus on combat, and redirect the energies of gamers towards constructive ends! Instead of damaging enemies, raking lasers across their 'Mechs shall now rebuild them! In the spirit of cooperation and camaraderie, we shall create rather than destroy! Onward, my brothers! Onward into a brighter future!

...but seriously. My IS-SPLs might as well be healing beams for all the damage they're not doing. This patch is frakking awful.

I think that each weapon should have its stats randomly changed at the beginning of each week. Imagine how much fun that'll be ... new meta every 7 days.
Are you trying to piss off the comfort l33t zoners or what?
But yeah, while every 7 days may be a BIT too often, once a month could be good. Hmm, well it depends..
A healthy meta is an everchanging one though no matter what.

I've received a lot of positive feedback and likes on this, I think that Chris and Russ will be very pleased to know that these proposed changes are going to be well received by the community.

I think that you're not being harsh enough, these OP meta guns need to be dialed back hard because they're supposed to be anti-infantry, anti-aircraft, and anti-unicorn exclusively. Not anti-mech, evar!
Subtract 1 point of damage from each, for starters. The IS versions need Ghost Heat and the Clan versions need their Ghost Heat limits set to 3.

Why stop there? Make small lasers' damage -20 with an 8s beam duration.

How would that work? Would they deal -2.2 damage per second, or would it start with positive damage and gradually go into negative, like a flamer?
