You rarely get something good out of them, I rather sell the ones with more than two common prizes and keep the rest.

Still, chances are, you will probably get the worst item inside. Wouldn't even think about spending MC on crates.

Sold a bunch of them and only opened the ones really good with the free keys given through events. Aside for the usual bad items, got some uncommon weaponry, several premium time and miraculously, only one mechbay. But that was just a one time thing from opening a lot of promising crates containing possible mechbays, MC or mechs.

So yes, opening crates is nearly useless.

i think best ive got was 50mc and 1 day premium time. literally drives me crazy not getting anything i would like.............7 things in a box i woudnt mind but no i get the 8th one i dont want. Then i r4ead some dude got a hero mech and i cry on the inside!!! cuz i cant even get a decal lol.


I do agree they should implement some crate only coolshit like patterns or alt shoulder pads etc.

I mean lol has free stuff lilke this and man the cool crap u can get in that is just awesome. So yeh i think it could be implemented better.

I have 60 caches and 0 keys. I was out of town for the Tukayyid event but I can't see me playing in the event because I don't like FP. I don't focus on other events where keys are given out. I just log on, play the game, and log off. If I get something great, if not then no big deal.

I bought some keys when I was first getting the caches because I didn't mind spending money on the game at that point. While the caches weren't horrible they also weren't great. Mainly I felt more disappointment than I did elation.

Now though I am not spending money on the game so I'm not buying any keys. The caches just aren't worth the MC cost.



What I wish would happen is they were just free to open. Then anything I got would be cool and a nice bonus. I can't see the keys being a big revenue generator and there are better ways to separate people from their money.

they would be better if they werent so damn rare. i still have 40 keys from previous events and will win 15 more soonish. ive been using key disposal units opening caches as fast as they come, and im never going to run out of keys at this rate.

if pgi wants to sell more keys, at least to older players, you need to do this:

more caches. give away 3 for fp games, 2 for qp games, 1 for scouting games. definitely more than the keys you have been handing out.

next patch, start putting new tech into the caches.

key pricing, fix it so that buying large blocks of keys are cheaper than one key at a time.

more item variety, still not seeing colors and patterns though dekkles are nice.

more high value ultrarares. like heros.

add gsp blocks to the caches.

and tweak the odds to be a little bit more fair.

Ha. You think this is bad? Trying unboxing an Unusual in TF2. Holy pinkhearts. MWO is very fair and generous by comparison.
That game has taught me to open any and all crates, only way of even having a chance of getting something really good. Of course I pretty much always get crap, best I ever got was 500 MC once, but whatever. At least here it's only 25 MC.
