So here is this Kingcrab wearing the illustrious "deathstar". I' m impressed. So I think to myself: " I'm gonna give this guy support; in return he teaches me".
Turns out to be a total noob. Game lost...
At least I wear my insignia with pride !

Most people who have the deathstar got it little over a year ago when there were server issues. Everyone would get disconnected on drop and if you quit the game you could get back into your DC match but you couldn't if you just tried to rejoin. So, there were many people who figured this out, came back into games with 12 DC enemy mechs and proceeded to kill each of them and get the deathstar tag. So, if you see someone with the deathstar tag, they are, 99.9% of the time a cheater who exploited their way to the title.

That would explain the inability of your crab to scratch his own buttox.

Not all of 'em though. Some would group up an have their team assist. Leg em an leave em, or flamer support, that sorta thing.

An there's bound to be one out there somewhere who just had a great run.

I've met one who legitimately got it. But yeah, for a while people were assuming that I got my Ace of Spades thanks to the server disconnect stuff like they did. Harrumph.

I don't for a second believe it when I see someone with the Death Star title. Chances are that they got it illegitimately. Ace of Spades I give more leeway to though. Afterall, I got mine legitimately long after this server issue thing went down in my Crab medium.

I came close to Ace of Spades once. I've had multiple 6 kill games, but only hit 7 once. 'Course, what made that 7 kill game sweet was that I was livestreaming when I did it. Made for a fun highlight.

Death Star is just about impossible to gain legitimately; unless they are a top 0.1% player, you are better off assuming they got it via exploit.

Ace of Spades is certainly possible to get legitimately; it took me 'just' 2000 battles to get.

Ya, Deathstar is a badge of dishonour in this game. Shame for the 1/1000 of 1% who actually lucked into it and earned it.

I got close to Ace of spades, in a LRM boat once..

Had seven kills, and the 8th was stolen from me by a light that rushed in.. oh well.. maybe next time ;-)

Closest I have ever gotten. Notice how I got an assist when no one else on my team got a kill. If only the 12th guy hadn't killed himself... I believe a Death Star is Legitimately possible.

I'm asking because I don't know. Can death star be achieved in faction warfare or only pug and team? Getting 12 kills out of 48 vs 12 out of 12

Its more of a badge of shame for PGI Right after the great server disconnect fiasco many emailed PGI and asked that a review of the game for the day and anyone having the tag have it removed. For those who got it PRIOR to that day they could email the date or close to it and ask for it back. PGI never did respond and just moved on to the next mech pack.

No, you can't get deathstar in FW, only in QP/GP. I've had 20 kills in FW and that's significantly easier than it would be to get 12 in QP. Best I've managed in QP is 9 a couple times.

When I got Ace I had 7 kills and asked my team to leave the last enemy, #8, for me, and was pleasantly surprised when they let me have him.

Never been close to death star, I think 8 is my highest count. There is always that freak chance it'll happen someday.

Death star is near impossible to get legit. I checked with steam when it said I had all achievements in the game. Uninstalled and used the portal-stand alone to find no death star. When people have aos-es I'm betting that is the one they got legit. I got mine a few months after the lct-1e came into the game and was quick enough to grab the screen shots. Power creep and high and higher alphas make it so getting aos is an easy thing now.

Achieved ace of spades several times, first time being at the time 8v8 was a thing.
But the one I am most proud of is ace of spades in spider 5V with 1200 damage done.
Death star, though, requires such luck that 11 people on your team cannot focus fire.
