I'm struggling to find a reason to take light Gauss.

Only 3 tons lighter, a little over half the damage of a regular gauss, barely better range, only 2 crit slots less.

Feels like it needs a range and/or damage buff.

Yeah it seems like most of the weapons are underwhelming. The LGauss needs something to make it worthwhile. Here are some ideas that could help.

1. No charge up or fast charge up with long hold time
2. Fast CD
3. Fire 4 at same time
4. Substantially better range over regular gauss (Also velocity to actually use that range)

Not all of these need to be done but they should be considered.

It needs faster cooldown, longer range, and perhaps some more velocity. Having the same cooldown as a weapon that does TWICE as much damage (regular Gauss) makes no sense whatsoever.

Possible ideas for the Light Gauss rifle to put it into numbers...

Damage: keep at 8

Heat: Keep at 1

ApT: Keep at 20

Range: Keep it at 750 optimal- 1500 max

Charge time: .5 second

Held charge: 1 Second

Cooldown: 3.5 to 4 seconds

Velocity: 2200m/s

My thought of this weapon is that While the gauss rifle is THE king pin of snipers, The Heavy gauss is the lapua round that big slug of metal no one lives to tell the tale about. The Light gauss if the DMR, the designated marksman rifle of the gauss family. Comparable to the normal gauss it has more damage per round at 160 per ton instead of 150 per ton albeit you have to take more shots to do that damage.

But the fact remains it's lighter. It should have a FASTER charge time and a FASTER dissipation of that charge due to smaller capacitors.

Due to the rounds being lighter and a smaller charge being needed it should cooldown FASTER instead of taking the same amount of time for the autofeed to lug up rounds twice it's weight.

A Smaller slug, at comparably similar kinetic energy launching it should go at a faster velocity. It may sound like I am contradicting myself but I am putting some logic here.

out of ALL the components making the gauss rifle, you are losing 3 tons, a fifth of the weight only which comes from reduce sizes of all components- to fire a slug HALF the weight of it's standard counter part.

This was my thought process during this feedback, I figured it would seem like good numbers to be had.

if you take 4 you can sustain gauss fire for a very long time.

i said already

drop charge
ghost heat limit at 4
3.5s cd

At worst youll have 32 dmg sniper if someone decides to spend 48 tons + ammo on them.
