I did these tests on Testing Grounds so experience might vary, but all signs points to PGI rushing out the PTR without doing even preliminary internal testing.

1. I dropped with 2xUAC20 with 4 tons of ammo on testing grounds. The IS UAC 20 shoots 3 shells per firing and the damage is divided in between shells. Basically 6.7 damage per shell. I tested it on the dummy Cicada and it took me 6 UAC20 ammo to destroy one leg. That makes some sense until you realize that PGI did not inflate UAC ammo accordingly like that of CUACs, so IS UAC20 still only has base 7 shells per ton! I can leg the same Cicada with regular AC20, using only two shells, and their ammo per ton is the same.

2. All IS UACs share the same model. Is that gonna change or staying this way? Cause I'd like EXTRA THICC barrels for UAC20.

Behold, this is current UAC20. Same thin model as UAC2.

This is too minimally viable, even for PTR.

So it needs 21 shots per ton. How did that get past internal testing. Did no-one notice that they had to spend so many tons on ammo?

Ammo thing will most likely be fixed for live release, wouldn't worry about it.

But that little cannon? Forget it! Pre-order canceled! How can I let people know I'm carrying glorious UAC/20s with those puny barrels?

I'm sure all of the issues I pointed out would be addressed, but the amount of negligence PGI had demonstrated is incredible.

What did you expected? A half baked PTS, like everything lately...

To be fair, PTS pointed out that only some of the mechs have the correct weapon models.

Now show us an RAC2, RAC5, UAC10, and UAC20 urbie!

If you had read the patch notes, you'd have read about the visual modelling of weapons.

Spoiler: PGI are going to release without all the weapons correctly modelled on all the Mechs and then "fix them in a subsequent patch".

This is the PGI way ... release things quarter-assed, and if you're lucky they'll patch it to half-assed later.

More than half a year after the new tech announcement and PGI still doesn't have all the weapon models ready for all the mechs. Not to speak about the bugs on the PTS.

PGI at its best...

Nope. There simply wasn't any internal testing to begin with.

Visual

The majority of 'Mechs have not yet been retrofitted to support the distinct visual appearance of new weaponry. For example, the Rotary Autocannon will appear as an Ultra Autocannon when equipped onto the majority of 'Mechs. Support for these new weapon visuals will be released in stages in future patches following our July Civil War Patch.

Until then, placing new weapons onto a 'Mech which does not yet support the unique visuals will cause those weapons to appear as their similar counterparts. For example, Rocket Launchers will appear as LRMs.

The following 'Mechs however will support the distinct visuals of new weaponry in the July patch, and when applicable, in this PTS:

• Black Knight
• Crab
• Enforcer
• Grasshopper
• King Crab
• Mauler
• Panther
• UrbanMech
• Wolfhound
• Zeus
• Annihilator (not available during PTS)
• Cougar (not available during PTS)
• Uziel (not available during PTS)
• Mad Cat MK II (not available during PTS)
• RAC weapon barrels currently do not rotate when being fired.
When Stealth Armor is active, the associated 'Mech will not retain its environment-neutral appearance when seen at a distance under Heat Vision.
• Status Indicator HUD 'help' window - available through the ESC menu - does not include indicator for Stealth Armor status.
• Rocket Launcher Hardpoints will still appear as if they have Rockets in them after being fired when placed onto 'Mechs which do not support their visual appearance.
• Some chassis will not display weapon geometry when equipping certain weapons.
