Let me start by saying I'd better not hear any complaining from IS folks that the Clans have superior tech and win by virtue of the tech and builds. With this patch the IS is going to get great tech. That's just the plain and simple of it.

Heavy and Light Gauss - Very nice touch to the Heavy Guass to make the reticle shake to simulate the piloting skill roll in Table Top. The Light Gauss fits what I think it should sound like, so good job there. The only place where I would have to deduct points is the graphic PGI used - it looks like a regular Gauss Rifle. I think a Heavy Gauss Rifle should look like a beefed up version of the standard. It would be as if the Heavy Gauss Rifle didn't listen to those films in gym class and took steroids.

Ultra AC's - Like everyone has said already, they devour way more ammo than expected. Hopefully this is just a bug and will be fixed by patch launch.

LB-X's - I was expecting to have more bass in the sound effects for the IS 10 and 20. To me they sound a little light for their size. I'm not saying they should sound like howitzers, but definitely like an Abrams main gun. When you light one of these off everyone should look at you and wonder if you lost and arm.

ER Lasers - They sound and perform like how you'd expect them too. No new colors to report this go around. There is still a sliver of hope we can get purple or rainbow colored X-Pulse lasers.

PPCs - Are pretty awesome, especially the much anticiapted Snub-Nose. Get ready for Snub-Nose overload with everyone running them instead of the standard PPC. Makes me almost want to go back to the Dark Side (InnerSphere), almost.

MRMs - Like the whooshing sound effect when you fire these bad boys. Spread at max range is just around battlemech size so nice damage spread. I can already see guys trying to shoot out the legs on light 'mechs with these launchers.

Light and Heavy MGs - Fun to shoot all around. Can we get different colored tracers, the yellow ones we have are a little boring and hard to see against brown/dirt colored backgrounds. Can we get Red and Green tracers instead?

RAC/2 and /5 - Probably the most single most anticipated weapon of the Civil War patch besides the Heavy Gauss. These have a smooth run up to their max cyclical rate. The steady stream of projectiles that this autocannon puts out can easily suppress any target. The Mac/10, Uzi have nothing on this weapon. The only place where I'm disappointed is the graphics - it still looks like an U/AC where it should have 6 barrels. The rate of fire is so impressive with just one of these connecting, you'll see the end of people using macros.

Yeah, as a primary IS player I think that once people adapt to the ways of the new tech it will go far to balance things with the Clans. I like the ATMs and HLs for,the same reasons you put out re the new IS tech. None of it breaks the game, all of it needs to be tuned, and good players are going to adapt themselves and their favorite chassis to the strengths of the technology.

I wish HLs had different beam colors. All Clan lasers look alike and it helps to tell what's shooting at you. HLs put out lots of damage/ton and I'd like to know what's hitting me before all my torso armor gets melted off in the first shot.

Is this post supposed to be ironic? I can't tell. Or is it actually serious?

Just note from the original patch description:
Weapon geometry is not ready yet for all mechs and will be added step by step for all the mechs.

That's why you might see "old" weapons in place of the new weapons on your mech geometry.

the racs seem utterly useless, low damage high heat maximum facetime, can use two without getting ghost heat
