What were the temps of your CPU? Switching to DX11 didn't help? Have you disabled xbox live? What size is your power supply, and manufacturer? Have you tested your data transfer rate of your hard drive?

I think around 60 is where my heat averages, dx11 and dx9 make no real difference to the issue. Xbox live in not a program running on my PC. Not sure about the rest right now.

But as I said, and I know it is no real measure of my PCs capability, but I can run ARMA 3 on almost maxed settings on full modded servers with literally no issues remotely similar to this one. I feel there is relevance there as it also is a cpu load heavy game, so if it was a bottlenecking or heat related problem or something of the like it should probably appear there too right?

What OS? If Windows 10, Xbox gaming items are on by default. They have to be disabled in the Control Panel/Gaming.

Yeah IDK, there is an Xbox icon in my startbar, but it doesn't lead to a file location, there is no xbox or xbox live application on my PC, and without signing onto xbox by clicking the icon to check further inside it, there seems to be no way to disable or remove it.

Ah ok, yeah my game DVR was off, I just switched off my game bar too, will have a few test runs I guess, I have game mode on too, does that function properly or could it also disrupt play?

That is an old blog from Jan 2016. Below shows what it looks like now. For players across several games, for some Game Mode lowered the player's FPS, others did not see any adverse effects.

Edit. Would you ask a mod to move this thread to workaround or hardware section, making it easier for others to find if another is running into a similar issue?

I have an X990, pretty much the same chip. Unfortunately the single core performance on these is kind of poop.

You might have "parked" cores preventing you from taking full advantage of the very limited multi-threading capability this game has. Not sure how to unpark those on Win10, but if you google around I'm sure you can figure it out.

I'm on 7 and I had to use an app or manually edit a bunch of registry keys.

Edit: Also, your board may only support PCIE 2.0, and I'm pretty sure that card is PCIE 3.0. Probably not the issue here, but you should check it out.

For what its worth my PC occasionally does the same thing, but the rest of my hardware isn't nearly as good as yours so I generally have pretty sub-optimal frame rates.

Depends if you've updated to the creator's update. Creator's update has alot of known issues with gaming and stuttering right now

Well a mod can move it if at all necessary, but I am enjoying the attention the problem is getting here at least.

All game bars are off, GeForce and xbox/windows game dvr is off, and even testing with game mode on and off, results in no change. Still getting those dern FPS spikes.

Also as mentioned earlier I am running parkcontrol to unpark or constantly keep my cores going.

Gonna reinstall to my HDD now before I sleep, see if that helps at all, after that I might try installing through steam, as Geforce keeps trying to start it through steam.. I get the feeling it will be a waste of time and bandwidth but my choices are pretty limited here.

Dude, let me know if you discover some kind of performance tweak for this chipset. Like I said, I deal with this same crap.

55-60 then chunky for no reason.

Do you have problems with any specific map? River city always chunks out for me.

Some maps it does seem less, and some games go with long no spike periods. But it always seems to persist, and usually gets me shot. I am not sure I have any real options left, waiting on a support response and maybe trying to find a user.cfg that might suit my setup, kind of over it now though, the game is just simply unplayable with this. It's a pity it took so many horrid test games in QP to even check

If so, it may just be buffering shaders as you move closer to the horizon or change your view to different angles on the map.

My very fast PC does this every time I clear out the shader cache.

Could be, though I have played many games with it persisting. One thing I noticed is that my USER file is on my HDD, all my MechWarrior save data goes there instead of to my SSD, which could potentially be the cause of issues. Nonetheless on one of my half a dozen reinstalls so far, I put the game to my HDD with no noticeable change in results.

Technical, no clue. It's a more complex issue. That being said, same issue here.

i7-6700K @ 4GHz, 36 GB DDR4, GeForce 1080 (4GB), SSD (system & game) here. I feel like I shouldn't have frame drops to below 5, yet I do. XBox DVR is already turned off. Therma Therma (pre-coffee brainfart) Tourmaline Desert is the worst offender to this issue, to the point where some explosions cause a string of these stutters.

Well, it is good to know I am not alone in this issue, it hopefully means this has been solved or fixed for others in the past, it is more than frustrating when it really shouldn't be occurring, and when my old (like 10 years old) PC makes this new one look like **** but only when playing MWO, it makes me sad.

I have now dropped several performance options from Very High down to High, and switched Antialiasing to TXAA. I'll monitor this. Last match on HPG was all gucci, but maybe I can get a Lurmaline going. If that works, I'll post my settings.
