Since I'm a disabled adult with nothing to do much otherwise, I've been talking to my friend who is really deeply into Battletech. Now I admit, I know this is a 3055 model and I don't know how far we're pushing the date up, but why pass on one of the most striking mechs designed?

It seems to me that we could emulate its loadout well with a heavy gauss cannon and a few lasers. I don't think it'd be good for much else, but would really boost the medium mech game. I'm guessing even so far as to make this guy a firing-line breaker for that weight class.

Why don't we even hear mention of it?

Well the Civil War update puts us into the 3060's for the BT timeline, so the Huron Warrior would not be out of place. Tech wise, everything it comes stock with is already in the game, so no issues there. Only issue I could see with it is that darn bonnet being such a shoot me here sign, but then again MWO's art team has done some great work so that might not end up so bad. +1 for me on wanting it added (though honestly there is very few mechs I wouldn't want to see).

Dem hitbox's bro. Yes please. I would love to shoot it's "peacocks crown" and kill it with ease.

Like the poster above you said, that crown could serve as a cowl of cool, electric lines, and not necessarily be stuck 10 feet in the air above the head. It's a Native American inspired design and I'd just like to see what the PGI guys could do for it. We definitely need more mediums in the game. It carries a unique gauss rifle, it's fast as hell, some variants come with ECM and Stealth Armor.

Also, I kind of hate your post because it describes every meta idiot in the game to a T.

I mean I don't want to insult here. The Albatros and this mech are two I would absolutely buy the ultimate pack for. It is because of their unique design. I also didn't want to have an "Why don't we have mech X thread".

The real reason I posted was to make note that with our new game additions (stealth armor, heavy and light gauss) are used in this design and variants of this design. Just seems sensible to me to build mechs that use the new weapons stock.

So you make the crown not part of the hitboxes. Imagine the potato rage!!!

But, wait... no...

You have to get in line behind my Crusader, darn you. No cuts! Posted Image

Seems like unneeded duplication. You can build the same thing on an Enforcer/Enforcer III with existing art assets.

Lol! Of course. I don't think your Crusader is in danger though, it is a heavy mech and the Huron is a medium. The clans arguably have the best mediums in the game already, so it doesn't make too much sense to add another when the Inner Sphere needs to have something to counter them. But the 3058 TROs do not really have much we haven't already seen for the IS. With most of the Mechs on that list looking very similar. However I did fall down the No-Dachi rabbit hole researching the Crusader. When anime influence hits Battletech no one wins.

But the Enforcer III was built for the Inner Sphere, while the Huron is a clan mech. Neither are in game.

Yeah, making the crest into something of a Jacob's Ladder would be interesting - Urbies shouldn't have all the flashing fun!

Cool-ish art aside, the Huron doesn't bring a whole lot to the table that the Enforcer doesn't already do pretty well. One aspect that does stand out is that it might have a higher engine cap.
Hit boxes would not be an issue per se, as all mechs introduced to the game are 'normalized (not an uncommon concept) to an extent so that portions count as a mix of CT, ST or even arms. See bushwacker and it's fupdup CT

But still.

Dude, you linked the Sarna page in your OP - you should know the Huron is a Capellan Confederation mech.
The Enforcer III is just an Enforcer with a UAC/10.

Sorry. I am just now re-reading through about 4.1 gigs of Battletech stuff and my brain hasn't been firing over the TT version since I was in middle school. Honest mistake.

Thank you friendly crab man.

I dunno. I guess yeah, I originally just thought this looked a fair bit cooler than others I'd seen, and I've yet to see a good Huron sculpt for TT. My main idea was, since they rocked this mech with a Silver Bullet Gauss rifle in 3081, we could substitute in a heavy gauss. But that's not really doing it justice, and if done poorly, would probably just be overpowered.

God damn it if I don't have a techno chubby for the art though.

Y'know, some toughness quirks to make up for the hitboxes and maybe an innate sensor/zoom buff to justify the bonnet, and it might have a niche.
