Limit the number that can fire together at the same time like the gauss rifle, with a more severe window. They could still be used as intended, like filling up the 1 missile slot on a stalker Misery or 2 on a grasshopper no one ever utilizes, and would not be nearly as attractive or effective for ending someone's match in one click.

Thoughts?

Something like this would be good but they would need to change the spread so it would be worth firing only 1 rocket 10 because if not i bet we would see mostly rocket20s'.

Just a little like they do srms.

rocket launcher should be limited to one firing at a time. with a universal cooldown that prevents you from firing another one until X amount of time has passed.

I think they just shouldn't put them into the game. Any stock builds that include them should just be switched to something else.

those are one shot only, guys. That is literally dead weight after that. If you can only fire them one after another, they will be total crap like flamers.

Let those little suicide bombers run around and work on situational awareness. After that one shot it is a dead mech walking.

"Sounds good, would not work" - Here's why:

Ok, so it would not be 1 click, but two in rapid succession.. it would still be able to kill an Assault with a light in seconds.. Still a sour taste in the mouth of an Atlas Pilot..

That's why he said "with a more severe window"
Like 1 every 30 seconds.

Or other way of fixing it, as I (and guess many others) suggested: Hard limit: no more than 3 RLs can be equiped.

If you're bad enough to let someone get perfect point blank to your rear, are you sure you really deserve to live in the first place?

None of the mechs with enough missile hardpoints to render themselves a real danger with RLs carry ECM -> Stealth armor.

I fail to see how this is a problem that even needs solving.

If someone wants to turn themselves into a joke that only has a single sucker punch and then they're done then let them. That's one more person who could have done real damage if they'd brought proper weapons off the field on the enemy team.

No, all you need is a buddy to distract.. It's called a brawl tactic.. you have one fast mech zip around a target, while others shoot and LRM him.. then you can easily place even a smaller shot to someone's back. And the really missile hardpoint heavy lights like Jenners can one-shot from the front too.. They 2-3 shot assaults with SRMs now..

So yeah..

Take stream-fire from MRM and give to RL.
10 missile per stream per launcher.

but then... you were outplayed by the enemy, no matter what weapons they use. getting a SRM24 Griffin in your back is more or less GG, too.

No, the Assassin has 2 missile hardpoints with ECM.

The only mech that can feasibly assassinate people with RL is the Griffin -2N, which is still only bringing 4x RL20- enough to kill an Atlas with frontloaded armor, but I would expect it to fail far more often than it succeeds.

4v4 makes builds like this seem a lot more powerful than they are. It's one thing to get up behind someone when there's only four pairs of eyes, it's another when there are 12. I'm not worried any more than I'm worried about anything else getting behind me.

Well, were where you whenever a light was one-shotted? If we go this route we might as well limit all big alpha usages, such as dual (heavy) gauss and a multiple ppc or combined builds at the same time.

With the rocket launchers, even a small mech is possibly a "scary build" to walk into...

Why would you even post this sort of misinformation? There are no lights that can one-shot assaults from the front. Even the Javelin can only muster 120 alpha vs. the 200+ CT health that most Assaults are rocking.

The Oxide can only carry 3 rocket launchers. If you're in something small enough to get oneshot by that, maybe you should try using WASD.

I agree and so far I have rarely seen and troll mechs. There was one guy yesterday that played with 4xRL20 and two Light or Snub PPCs.
He managed to get me one time. After that I became aware of that tactic and locked targets and when I see RL I just keep my distance.

If that's needed it makes sense so as not to destabilize the mech by pushing it over. So the sim wouldn't hurt from limiting amount fired if that's needed.

Its very obvious they are adding these weapons slightly under powered if anything across the board. Except maybe the RL. Almost for sure some fine tuning to the numbers inbound.

Makes sense if the rockets fired like this below. They fire like that in rl because all at once would cause problems with the platform itself, breaking it or what ever.

I do hope that the problem eventually solves itself. RLs will enable troll builds, sure, but I do hope that the general population doesn't take to using RLs too much. You end up with a kill, some 200 - 300 damage and that's that. You're pretty much dead afterwards and won't contribute much - and that's if you can get in range, hit properly and actually kill instead of cripple.

The payouts for RL suicide runs shouldn't turn out to be overly appealing. Maybe things will sort themselves out after the troll factor / novelty wears off. Otherwise, yes, a hard limit on how many can be fired at the same time might be needed.

Let them use their troll build. RL are one-shot...afterwards they are dead meat. Is that really fun? I doubt it. Most likely you will see some trolling at the beginning. Afterwars, the weapon system will be dead.

However, it begs the question why they were implemented into MWO at all? Why using resources on THIS? They contribute not much gameplaywise...except enabling trolling

One-shotting lights is totally ok for peeps. However, when a light ever kills a heavy or assault, hell is breaking loose on the forums "nerf da lights!1!!"
