PTR 4v4 experience proves that we dont need more potatoes to have better fun. BRING BACK 8v8, and use the rest of the resources to bring back old damage indicators!

When they went to the 12v12 format it was a down grade in my opinion. Does not surprise me that players are having more fun on the 4v4 PTS.

Many of the maps now are too big for 4 vs 4 or 8 vs. 8. You probably need to remove map voting, and anytime you have a 4 vs. 4 or 8 vs. 8, you need to out the small maps, looking at the old River City, River Valley, and Frost City.

I don't think the large maps are too big for 8v8. In fact, I think the size might give players more of those 1 on 1 or small lance encounters they seek.

Well, considering this is the first time I installed and played on a PTS, yeah, there's definitely more people than before.. If only with they would not do a PTS while an active event challenge was on..

Yes said it before PTS+Event are a bad idea. My waittimes are up to 15min and more.

Also about the fun. To me its less about the number of players but no running into the same Meta builds every match.

One of the reasons I enjoy this pts is the utter lack of care about bringing something "competitive". I mean this is about helping us and PGI fix what is broken and try and break everything as part of that process. Its fun to try and max crap out in an environment where you are SUPPOSED TO try and max crap out. I ran an illya last night with three RAC 5s, just to see if I could pull it off (no) and then switched to 2RAC5s and a UAC5 and it was great. I never would have tried that on the live server. The heat stats alone would have given me pause. PTS is fun and the new tech does not seem OP, and I am enjoying trying to push the margins to hopefully encourage PGI to make sure it stays that way.

4v4 was awesome because you can track your targets better, you don't have to worry about 2-3 mechs sliding around to your flank and blindsiding you.

Also in 4v4 there is a higher possibility of "coming back". I had several games where a team would go down 3 - 0 and the last dude on the team(may have been an indestructible urbie ) drop all 4 players on the other (my)team.

There were some good carries as well

But in 12v12 its very hard to carry a 9-10 people. Now i've seen it, but its much harder(obviously).

Well that and pretty much no poke mech, just run in and hammer one another.

I loved it, for the new tech, but also for the 4v4.

I'd love to see 4v4 and 8v8 as alternatives to full companies, in random queue.
