gone down the list of ballistics that were on the changed list and came up with some opinions on the changes.

iuac20 - great weapon highly reccomended. cant really give a comparative analysis because the old version had bugs. but now that those are out of the way this one jumps to the top of my favorites list. might be a tad bit too op though. for one i was running a pair on a boomwhammy and didnt overheat once. i dont recall any jamming though, perhaps thats why it feels op. im gonna run it a few more times and try to catch it jamming.

iuac10 - much much better. i was using one yesterday with an mrm20 on the gridiron and the damn thing kept overheating. today i boated a pair on a bushie with an xl255 engine, and swepped a match getting all 4 kills. possibly op, but that boom bush always was pretty deadly with std ac10. find it hard to believe that one little point of heat was all it needed to be brought into line.

rac2 - much much better. it feels about right. a viable option for long range suppression.

rac5 - its better, but i still dont like it. new spinup value was immediately noticeable but it didnt make the weapon any easier to use. the amount of time you have to fire between spinup and overheat still feels way too short. you cant really use it for suppression as it failed to keep a bunch of hill humpers down, its a terrible gun for a game of whack a mole. keeping the guns spun up should be a viable option. i dont understand how a gun can melt down without firing a shot. it should only experience heating when rounds are fired. this affects the 2 as well but it doesnt kill the weapon.

hmgs, lmgs - i really couldnt get a fair test of these considering the situational nature of their use. i ran is versions, clan are more or less the same with different tonnage. i kind of think clan weapons need to be distinct from is abit morem but that applies to flamers, std mgs, etc as well. i was able to knock out a section with 4 lmgs on a locust, but couldnt do a thing with the hmg. im not sure i follow the sentiment that the hmg was ever op. maybe if you run more than 4 on a mech that has mg quirks (which i assume have been disabled for the pts) they might seem op but im not seeing it. i think maybe trade some of the crit seeking ability and structure destruction for a bit more armor damage. the lmg i kind of like for its range, you can put a little bit more space between you an your target as you chew through. they are still far from useless though.

light gauss - not sure if the buff was ever neccisary. but you can run a gauss dps build on any mech you can crap 4 rifles int while netting more damage than dual std gauss. i guess it does allow for a midget version of the old dual gauss dual ppc meta that everyone ran in competitive games. i like it but id keep an eye on it. it might get op fast.

hv gauss - i like it. it was good the first time and its still good. how can you argue about a weapon that does 25 damage. people complain about the recoil effect but i think that without it you would have the key to a powerful and unchecked meta. you wont be seeing this mixed with ppcs much and thats probibly a good thing. since all it got was a velocity tweak which should make it better at range and help balance out the rapid damage falloff.

thats it for ballistics, going to run some tests of missiles/energy so look for additional threads.

Please, Light gaus is fun, but still crap. Try the LG Mauler
https://mwomercs.com...uler-kinda-fun/

And the HG is trash. It weighs to much to have a 180 eff range. it is a joke

thats pretty much the build i used. its better at suppression than the rac5. and the hg is trash, until you kill somone with it. everything i shot at lost parts.
